With years of experience playing in indie rock, funk and hardcore bands; Brooklyn based musician Matt Sapp began to DJ in 2010 as a method of exploring music performance outside of a band context.  Since then, he has held many residencies and guest spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn performing open format sets.  In addition to his DJ career, Matt is the bassist for the indie-dance band Blacktop Daisy.  They play regularly in the New York CIty area and will be releasing their debut EP in November 2013.

I will always be a student of sound. I'm creating sound mixes that hit in the gut and give the listener no choice but to move. I celebrate what dance really is for me - the richest and most honest way to communicate anything.

Originally from the southern United States and now based in Brooklyn, NY, DIMS is an avid vinyl collector and DJ known for his fine mix of disco, funk, boogie, soul, and house.

He has a residency at Tonight's Special, a disco/funk party in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and he co-hosts the monthly Function Factory podcast at Halcyon Records.

Over the years, DIMS has been fortunate enough to bring the boogie to some of NYC’s most exciting and intimate venues, including Good Room, Elsewhere Loft, Rose Gold, Mad Topical, Fat Buddha, The Counting Room, Heathers, and many more.
