Age of the Apes explores the tragic trajectory of humanity — from primal origins to self-inflicted destruction. It is a stark reflection on evolution not as progress, but as an unending cycle of violence, power, and decay. This album questions the myth of “survival of the fittest” and unmasks it as a ruthless ideology that justifies cruelty and dominance.

From the first upright step of the ape to the devastating consequences of war, technology, and greed, it holds a mirror to our collective psyche and societal failures. It reveals the paradox of human intellect and brutality — how the crown of civilization is often forged with the blood of the weak.

Drawing on the shadows of history and the whispers of nature’s wrath, Age of the Apes warns: evolution without empathy is a path to inevitable collapse.

You could call this album a horror opera. Or maybe an audio horror movie. It’s an ecstatic mix… a soaking wet nightmare.

You might feel uneasy. Maybe even terrified. Possibly… watched. Or possessed.

We’ve had some of the strangest reactions from people lucky (or unlucky) enough to get an early listen. We just call it music. And hey — tastes vary. You might hate it. You might fall in love with it.

Either way, we can proudly say this is our absolute favorite album we’ve ever made.

Oh, and here’s the weird part — there’s no mastering on this record. What you hear is raw and unfiltered. Untouched. Unpolished. Not separated from reality in any way.

Maybe that’s what makes some people squirm.

Our sound is ritualistic, raw, poetic, and unsettling – a feverish hallucination of lust, madness, and damnation.

Yet beneath the surface of distortion and desire, much of what we create is deliberately satirical, infused with dark humor, and framed by a sharp lens of social and systemic critique.
Even in our most explicit expressions, we do not glorify violence or sexuality – rather, we expose and question the very ways they are distorted, repressed, or exploited by society.

We first came together around 2004, initially under a different project name. NeON dEVIL, as it exists today, began to take shape in 2009 with the release of our first official album. We are not bound to a fixed genre. While much of our work lives within the realm of extreme metal, we also draw heavily from other styles — trap, rap, classical music, 70’s psychedelic rock, avant-garde, and at times even pop or swing.
Our influences are vast because each of us comes from a different musical background, and it is essential to us that every member can fully express themselves and feel at home within this project.

NeON dEVIL is a nonprofit music project.
We do not create for profit — all earnings are used exclusively either to support charitable causes or to fund the creation of new music. No part of our income goes anywhere else. The art we make either helps those in need or fuels the fire for our next creation.
