Since the release of his debut album „Villa/11 Rooms“ in September 2013, the 23-year old Vienna-based Florentin Berger-Monit aka Toju Kae is well known for his intense, hypnotising ambient sound with melancholic undertones. Still mantaining a strict focus on the creation of atmospheres and soundscapes, his new EP „Shades“ offers a deep and broad range of sounds containing elegantly woven electronic textures, a driving bass and the ethereal vocals of Elena Shirin. Beside the original tracks „Shades“ and „Forest Fires Pt. 1“, the EP comes along with two remixes of the self-titled track by also Vienna-based DJ Philipp Lichtblau and Swiss producer and DJ Pol R giving „Shades“ a slightly cooler and even more danceable touch. „Shades“ is out on September 20th via Neopren Records.

Seq9 oder Sequence9, das ist Anthony Schoffmann aka DJ Gomor und Marlène Petijean aka DTY.
Es ist aber auch diese Sequenz, die nie richtig läuft auf Anthony’s uraltem Casio CZ5000… die Sequenz mit den ganz seltsamen Klängen… Das ist die mysteriöse Seite der Elektronik, die dunkle, seltsame Seite.
Irgendwie ist es eine Auflehnung gegen das System der Elektronik selbst.

Anthony selbst, der braucht übrigens auch keinen Irokesenschnitt auf dem Kopf, um aus der Reihe zu tanzen. Mit 12 Jahren legt er an Afterparties in der Schweiz auf, mit 17 schmeisst er seine ersten Raves und kurz danach kommen seine ersten Releases bei ein paar englischen Labels. Und seither Jahre der Komposition und Produktion bei allen möglichen Labels, in Frankreich und sonstwo.

Marlène lernt er in Spanien kennen, im legendären „Rachdingue“, damals von Miette und Salvador Dali gegründet, und wo er (Anthony, nicht Dali) Resident DJ war und mit Franck Devilleneuve Events organisiert hat. Marlène macht dort Dekoration, Bühnenbilder, Material gewordene Ideenwelten… sie ist Künstlerin, Nomadin…
Mit 16 entdeckt die die Welt des Schamanismus, deren unkonventionelle Medizin, eine ganze neue Weltanschauung. Sie macht sich von zu Hause davon, gibt in ganz Frankreich Feuerspektakel zum besten, lebt auf den Strassen und von der Hand in den Mund. 
Ergebnis: Temperament, Lebenserfahrung, und Flügel… geradeaus durchs Leben, Abwarten is nich.
So fängt eine schöne Geschichte zu zweit an… Pinsel und Feuer lässt sie zurück, für Anthony’s wilde Klänge und seine schönen Augen…

Im Leben und auf der Bühne ein Paar, teilen sie alles von ihrer Haut bis zu ihren Maschinen, von ihren Herzen bis zu ihren Ideen.
Sei es HipHop, Techno, Jazz oder Pop, der Stil von Seq9 ist der Kreuzungspunkt zwischen Aphex Twin, Radiohead, James Holden und DJ Koze, eine elektronische Mixtur aus den Klängen des Lebens.

Als DJ paradiert Anthony mit der riesigen Vinylsammlung, welche sein Vater (erster Jukebox-Importeur in Europa) bereits vor ihm zusammengetragen hat.
Jazz bis Jungle und alles dazwischen, Angst hat er vor nichts.

Live kontrastiert seine etwas wilde Seite sehr schnuckelig mit Marlènes sexy-weiblicher Ruhe. Mit Ableton, Controllern und anderem Gerät wird das zusammengerührt, was gelegentlich aus Detroit, Chicago und verwandten Orten an Ihre vier Ohren dringt. Man sieht und man hört die intime Verbundenheit der beiden, privat und musikalisch, Verliebtsein fördert eben die musikalische Produktivität!

Tag und Nacht den Computer in Griffnähe, hören sie nicht auf, Melodiefetzen und andere Ideenfragmente zusammenzusetzen, auszuprobieren, auszubauen… bis zum Umfallen, und dennoch immer mit der grössten Rücksicht auf ihre sechsjährige Tochter.

Mit ihren surrealistischen Zügen bricht ihre Musik mit vielen Konventionen. Sie sind beide Widder, beide immer Feuer und Flamme für ihre Ideen, und um anderen irgendwie voraus zu sein, scheuen sie sich nicht davor, sich auch mal wehzutun, wenn sie mit dem Kopf durch die Wand müssen.
„Manchmal haben wir Lust, eine Bombe zu legen, der Zustand unsere Welt kann einen entsetzen; aber dann bleiben wir bei unseren Loops und versuchen, dieser Welt Botschaften zu senden…“

Beim Hinhören, auch mal bissl lauter, entdeckt man da und dort ganz unterschwellige Klangteppiche, vertäumt, sehnsüchtig… psychedelisch und nicht von hier.
Die Musik könnte damit als „Lyserghouse“ bezeichnet werden… schön, oder? Herr Hoffmann lebte auch in Basel…

Und daneben sind sie noch Künstler, auch abseits der Musik; mit einer Kunst, die Technologie, Ökologie und wachsamen Fortschrittsglauben vereint, wollen sie ein Steinchen ins Mosaik der Geschichte einfügen. Mit ihrer Vereinigung „Innerzone Art“ soll ab diesem Herbst in Südfrankreich daran weitergearbeitet warden.

After Silenzio and Robotique de l’Amour- in french, Vampiros Discos is Theremynt’s third Ep- an electronic journey in Portuguese-tribute to  Horror Brazilian Filmmaker  Ze do Caixao and all the vampires movies that have accompanied us as teenagers such as Dracula and the Likes. Somewhere between dirty house, krautrock and deviant techno, it is an uplifting track made for the dancefloor . The three remixes are following the track’s original path pushing it to its edges: Andrew Claristidge from Acid Washed has given an interesting version both deviant and cinematographic, the Club Bizarre duet is offering a more techno version  with obsessive bells while legendary techno producer David Carretta is immerging us into a new beat and rather technoish hypnotic tune. The result is a perfect DJ tool -worth trying on the dance floor in the middle of the night.

The swiss-born musician Toju Kae lives and works in Vienna. In his music he melts various acoustic colors, moods and musical styles into an innovative and unique sound. The genre- spektrum of his productions ranges from playful electronica and reeled up techno/house-sounds to delicate future r&b and crispy bass music. After two celebrated albums („Villa / 11 Rooms“ & „Unfold“) and one single („Shades“), Toju Kae deliv- ers another impressive work with the release of „Deintag EP“ (Neopren Records).
The track „Deintag“ already appeared on the 2015 album „Unfold“. This release also contains a beat-drunk „Deintag (Toju Kae Re-Drum)“ version and a clubby remix made by the prestigious british producer Kelpe (D.C. Recordings / Drut Recordings). Toju Kae’s track „Deintag“ is a homage of impul- sive music-making between the atmosphere of departure and stagnation. He skillfully managed to work out a fascinating arc of suspense - hence, the track leaves enough space for diverse associations of the listeners.
Toju Kae used a piano, drum-machines and vocals for this track. He chased them through a lot of effects and created a dreamy and powerful electronica track.
The „Re-Drum“ version adds wondeful beats to that and the remix of Kelpe drags the track towards the dancefloor and adds his extraordinary style.
This release will delight electronica- and bass music-fans all around the globe and will cast a spell on DJs, listeners and connoisseurs. To say it in awkward marketing lingo: „This release is a must-have this spring!“

We are NEOPREN Records, a combination of two labels called NEOPREN and BLACK FOX MUSIC. Our company is based in Basel / Switzerland, Berlin / Germany and Paris / France.

Our headquarters, based in Basel, contain the label management, A&R and our production - and mastering studio. To get yourself a picture, imagine the following: Almost a museum and one of the largest collections of working synthesizers in Europe, all of them playable by midi-CV/Gate! Our studio contains about 150 vintage synthesizers, drum machines, vocoders and any kind of other weird sound generating devices. Combine that with a high-end, partly custom built sound system and state-of-the-art soundprocessors (Manley, Drawmer, Avalon, Eventide, etc) and you get a wonderful playground for every sound addict.

However, NEOPREN Records is not just a record label. We are also a booking agency. This is where Berlin and Paris comes in. Our Staff in Berlin and Paris mainly takes care of bookings but also of our distribution, promotion and artwork as well as web design. They also manage our events in the particular countries.

We are not only focusing on sound. There is also our visual-art division called NEOPREN Edition which combines visual arts and club-culture by organizing events and release DVD's with/about artists with a more visual focus.

We are constantly looking for artists, who wish to cooperate, participate, and help to make things happen. The label's philosophy is to share and promote talents, exchange know-how and to put together complementary competences in order to build a wide and evolving platform for artists to create audio-/visual art on an electronic background.
