THE LAST EVER SLINKY!!! Try saying that to yourself without getting a little sentimental. What an amazing night which was experienced by all who attended SLINKY CLASSICS - THE SEND OFF. It really was an honour being asked to play, especially after having had so much involvement with this truly cosmopolitan, clubbing brand over the years. These range from playing on Friday nights at the Bournemouth Opera House (now the O2 Academy) to their phenomenal world tours - a real testament to the unique club culture which was rife at the time and to what SLINKY had achieved globally!! :)  

There's no question of a doubt that the mother of all parties was witnessed by all who attended the O2 Academy on Saturday 5th October 2013. Here's my contribution to mark the 16 glorious years of SLINKY!!!

The debut production from Trance duo 'Oxygen' which is a rework of the Paul Van Dyk classic 'For An Angel'. The reason we went for a rework is that Paul is a complete legend to us and we love this track, so wanted to create something up to date for our current sets, yet still keep  the feel and energy of the timeless classic original.

The Original Mix intros with a classic kick and hat combination which sets the pace of the track up beautifully. The deep bass is accompanied by a cool riff that evolves as the track progresses. Cool rising pads lead into a superb break filled with melodic sequences and some nifty percussions before getting right back into the groove. Great stuff here and a definite must for the more upbeat prog sets. Belgian duo Benoit Franquet and Cedric Piret aka Pole Folder & CP reunite to deliver a stunning remix. The guys have collaborated well in the past with releases on Bedrock Records. Individually they have reached the pinnacle of their respective careers and have gained much respect in the process. Here they work up a cool progressive vibe as the track intros with a sharp hat and a smooth arp that dominates the sound. Nice kicks fade in setting up a very cool rhythmic arrangement with the help of quality percussions. A deep resonating bass beefs up the sound and adds to the hypnotic tendencies as a result. 

In contrast, a sweet pluck adds a beautiful texture, superb stuff! The legend that is Airwave is next up to remix duties with his now signature Breaks Mix. Laurent has proven time and time again this his status as legend is very well deserved given the quality of his own material and also the quality he pours into remixes like this. Very subtle intro with some FX and percussions, a rising cymbal is greeted by nice and chunky kicks in breaks style. The ever teasing synth pads weave intricate melodies that just sit back and create an air of beauty. The beats are ever evolving and in full swing they are something to behold and when the melodies burst forth you get an intense euphoric vibe which just feels right. An incredible remix and no doubt will be very well received!

John is a massive satchel. I have the misfortune of sharing an office with him. He keeps insisting that Perfecto Fluoro is a Goa trance label that doesn’t release 140 but guess what? When my back is turned he goes and sneaks a 140 track into the schedule. Honestly – I have never met a more hypocritical bell end in all my life. Still, if John’s style of music floats your boat and you enjoyed his recent productions (Commander Tom “Are am Eye” remix, JOC “Stresstest” remix, Empirion “Narcotic Influence” remix or his single “Shine” etc etc) then I guess you may like this one. 

When I asked John to describe the sound of this record he said “it sounds the same as all my other shit but this time it has the added bonus of people having sex all the way through it”. 

In true egotistical style there are no remixes.

#WeAreTrance​ (Switzerland) welcomes back Turkey's Trance mastermind KENAN TEKE with his tribute cover version of OXYGÈNE (PART 8) of the iconic Jean-Michel Jarre.

Originally released in 1997, included on the Album "Oxygène 7–13", Jarre's 12th studio Album, the track was also released as a Single. In Kenan's vault since 2013 his superb remake finally gets its deserved official release in an all new mixed and mastered update.

This is the follow up to his previous release "Colossus", another fantastic reinterpretation based on the main theme of the Turkish motion picture "Kiracı" (1987).

Neptune Project - A duo consisting of Dan Willis and Jules Moyce are creating their own legacy in trance music with not only their unique vintage production sound, but also due to the global demand of their extended sets. So many fans have been left in sheer amazement after witnessing these marathon performances, which can only be described as 'the ultimate journey' in trance.

With their track 'Aztec' being named by world number 1 DJ, Armin Van Buuren as his favourite production of 2009,  the UK pair have gone on to have releases on all of the major labels including Anjunabeats, Armada, Vandit, Subculture and Future Sound of Egypt. Along the way they have also remixed for the likes of Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk, Aly & Fila and produced an incredible modern take on Pink Floyd's music.
 
With their own Mythology label focused solely on their own productions, combined with the innovative platform Amplifyd, Neptune Project are a strong driving force in the world of trance.
