The train roared through the dusty outback. All aboard the Santos Express. Beneath the backdrop of the setting sun the sand blew coarsely in the wind. In the carriage a party was underway and the liquor was flowing, good times were flourishing and soon they would be dirty stinking drunk. Who knew that such a train could exist, it was nothing like he had ever witnessed before. Glamorous, proposterous and chaotic it was a rocket ship transporting the ruff and tumble of the night through no mans land.

Based in Berlin Algorythm likes to dabble in playful pads and lush melodic twists. This is blatantly clear from his new release on Neptune Records which is a beautifully enchanting ep.

Switching production styles Algorythm takes a more gentle approach enveloping bubbling aquatic techno with depth charged house on ‘Pearls’. ‘Big Beat Repeat’ is a self-explanatory earworm and title track ‘Behind the Clouds’ rounds the EP nicely with cascading synths nodding to the likes of Crash Course in Science. After a lifetime of loving, making and releasing music, a new persona was developed and named Algorythm. With this project, the artist wanted to dive deeper inside himself and explore some noisier and darker sides of his musical spectrum. Simply put; to let his inner algorithm run free. With Algorythm he wants to put the focus on the music and not on the person behind it, therefore he decided to keep his identity a secret. This debut for Curle Recordings follows releases for NeedWant and Neptune Records.

Clash DJ Mix - Algorythm

The mysterious @Algorythm-official makes a welcome return to his own imprint with his Hunter EP- four original productions that showcase his ability to create perfect synchronicity between light and dark.

Title track Hunter is a tense, dramatic offering that plunges the listener into an enthralling trance. Homework fuses eerie and industrial sounds with a pacing percussive backdrop and dark cinematic layers. On Ich Glaub Ich Spinne Algorythm takes the EP on a new journey with an uplifting groove, playful beat weaved together with triumphant pads. Shark Tale deploys a carnival of percussion as waves of synths wash over the intricate layers.

Little is known about Berlin producer Algorythm. Under this enigmatic alias, he heads up Berlin-based imprint Neptune Records, as well as being one of the key figures in the newly launched Planet X Recordings - a label with an equally mysterious thread running through it. Named after Planet X- a supposed 'planet' with a mass 10 times of the Earth deep in our solar system- the project will be an exploration of this object with each release featuring the work of different photographers, which will be exhibited later this year.
