Elegant melodies sit on top of classic 4/4 rhythms, while pillowy pads and chords flicker like streetlights in the fog. Steady and consistent with a pensive edge, the Memphis Glass sound continues to distill into some of the best lo-fi house in the game.

PREMIERE | Memphis Glass - Compact (DJ Psychiatre Remix)

The twenty-eighth release from Chilean label Halcxn is led by Chilean DJ and producer Kamila Govorčin, currently based in Croatia. On this occasion, she presents a body of work centered on ambient music: an eight-track album conceived and experienced as a continuous sonic journey from beginning to end. The album stands out for its narrative coherence, giving meaning to each moment through the thoughtful use of synthesizers, breaks, vocals, and silence.

In the artist’s own words:

“After a long night, at dawn, the dew appears — a gentle gift from the sky. In alchemical practices, dew is collected because it is associated with the universal spirit; a substance that can dissolve, transmute, and regenerate. The base of an elixir. This idea inspired me to create Rocío, a full-length album I began working on a year ago to present at an event by Osvaldo Sotomayor, and which I finally completed in Rijeka, Croatia. Over the course of 48 continuous minutes, elements of ambient, breaks, downtempo, acid, and trip hop are combined, creating a sonic journey that is reminiscent, hypnotic, warm, and fluid.”

Smile (Part II)

Seb Wildblood’s ethereal single Insomniac Crossing featuring Eli Dayo receives a dancefloor-ready makeover from Berlin-based, British producer Blossom Hill, out September 4th.

The electronic artist, quickly becoming known for exploring the intersection of textural house, detailed electronica, and club-focused IDM, transforms Wildblood’s dreamy original into a club-focused cut while preserving the track’s emotional core. Featured in DJ Mag, DMY, Mixmag and Kaltblut Magazine, Blossom Hill brings his genre-fluid approach to one of the standout tracks from Wildblood’s upcoming album “Waterworld” (October 19th).

The remix offers a development in Blossom Hill’s sound, more stripped back and dancefloor focused than his previous work but decorated with his signature hyper digital sound design. His take maintains the lush atmosphere of Wildblood’s original while injecting the kinetic energy that has teased Blossom Hill as an exciting newcomer in both Berlin and London’s electronic scene. It marks another chapter in “Waterworld”, Wildblood’s most introspective and sonically expansive project to date.

RNT introduces MOTEL PHANTASMA, a new project from a mysterious production duo with their incendiary Claptrap EP. A tasty double A-side 7”, this pair of tracks establishes the MP sound as both club-tough and musically weighty. 

The title track is a peaktime weapon of epic proportions, oozing slippery electronic percussion, razory synth work, and in-your-face vocal incantations delivered in Portuguese. 

The flip side is a bouncey Afro-boogie number, a bit more organic in approach, and with a relentlessly catchy hook by featured singer Kaleta. With a gorgeous full color jacket to match the music’s punch, this one is an absolute late-summer essential.

Paris-based friends and confidants CLAP42 and WTNS surface with a misty-eyed house track that feels tailor-made for the soft light of dawn. What started as a sampling exercise turned into a slow-burning, smile-inducing groove - equal parts cheeky and tender.

Behind the CLAP42 moniker is a Parisian producer and member of the Skylax crew. His knack for broken beats, soft-saturated synths, and intuitive sequencing gives the track its pulse. At the heart of it is WTNS’ voice - raspy, dreamy, and gently guiding each act. Nearly a decade ago, her first vocal demo “Persian Leaves” appeared quietly on SoundCloud: a raw sketch of a voice still taking shape, already carrying the emotional weight it now commands. 

Light on its feet but heavy with feeling, this is house music with a pulse and a wink - made for the end of the night, or maybe the start of something else.

American producer James Cook has quietly built a reputation for unhurried yet deeply considered electronic music. First appearing on Greta Cottage Workshop back in 2013 with his debut CD album 'Sleep Deep, Mountain King' and later stepping out under his Black Point alias for two vinyl releases on Cologne’s revered Out To Lunch, Cook’s productions have always carried a sense of clarity and patience.

Long-time readers may remember that in July 2020 we published IA MIX 336 Black Point, a revealing mix and interview that offered insight into both his background in music and production techniques. That mix hinted at the directions he would later explore, and 'EP 2' issued through Tokyo-based @format-records (pronounced "format"), extends that trajectory - gathering fragments of the past decade into a finely detailed four tracker.

Digital Diogenes, the multifaceted DJ, producer and visual artist hailing from Seville, Andalusia, presents his latest EP on Flumo Recordings – Chicago – a pulsating ode to the origins of house music and a candid reflection on the complex relationship between a city and its beloved, yet sometimes disappointing, sports team. Known for his groundbreaking contributions to the Sevillian scene, being part of groups like Califato 3/4 and Industrias94, Digital Diogenes now turns his attention to The Windy City, the birthplace of house, weaving its raw energy and gritty spirit into a captivating sonic tapestry.

This EP dives deep into the sonic landscapes of Chicago house, exploring its foundational rhythms and soulful melodies, all while infused with Diogenes' distinct Andalusian flair. However, the inspiration extends beyond the city's musical legacy. A profound influence on this project is the agonizing decline of the Bulls in their latter seasons – a narrative of fallen giants that resonates deeply with the artist. The EP masterfully captures the highs and lows, the triumphant swagger, and the melancholic disillusionment that defines this duality.
