Write a frivolous song.

Music has always accompanied human celebration.  Sometimes you just need a groove and a catchy hook and a whole building full of people will turn their brains off and dance.  On the other hand, some of the most expertly written and well though out music did not take itself seriously in the least (think Tom Lehrer, Randy Newman, etc.).

Whether it's music that's meant to be funny, all about the groove, or even demonstrate your skills of linguistic acrobatics, good songs can absolutely be frivolous.  Never take yourself too seriously.

Producers:

Show off.  Pull out all your tricks and use what's appropriate.

Just don't go overboard!  Just because you're making dessert instead of a hearty main course doesn't mean you should use all icing.  Make sure you don't overpower the vocals, but make this instrumental the one that shows of your best ear candy.

Whether it's a face-melting solo, club-shattering bass, or the most headnodic groove ever heard by human ears, this track should be the one you point people to and say, "I made that," while linking them to a rage comic with the caption, "Fuck yeah."
