I've been wondering why I make music for a long time. Where does the inspiration come from, is it something inherited from my family? Or am I just passionate about music by coincidence? These and many more questions haunted my mind, until now.

To learn more about where this energy and musical inspiration come from, I decided to go back in time. What music did my mother listen to when I was in her womb, what tunes sounded on my grandmother's radio every morning when she would wake me up to bring me to school, and what about the salsa I heard in the streets of my city when I was growing up? I analyzed each instrument, motive, break and structure of the musical and the emotional side; I wanted to find its essence. 
 
To my great surprise I realized that many of the rhythms, melodies and even cuts or structures of my songs were very similar, some identical, to the tunes of my youth. I felt I was one step closer to unraveling the origin of my inspiration. I began to further investigate the music that culturally influenced me: cumbia, porro, mapalé, chande, salsa, guaguanco, son montuno, boleros, indigenous music and world folk music. With all these elements I began to fill in the puzzle and answer questions. 
 
I wanted to dive deeper into the roots and history to find the elements that merged to create what we hear today. For example, at some point in history the indigenous Kogi of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia combined their traditional flute known as charu with strident and hypnotic African drums, creating what today we call cumbia. I started to understand that my passion for music, the desire to compose something every day, the joy of playing the charu or simply listening to music, come from much further back and from much more inside then I could have ever imagined. I realized that it was a legacy and a present that my ancestors had given me, indicating to me their greatest source of energy and inspiration, the sun and mother earth.
 
From this point on I let myself be possessed, carried and inspired by the ancestral spirits. I saw the light and was reborn as a ‘bagabagá’ (symbol of the butterfly in local Colobiam dialect Embera), transforming me and awakening my soul to travel from the earthly body to a spiritual body. The musical transcription of this journey is TRANSCENDER.
 
You will find different soundscapes and instruments like trumpets, saxophones, charu ‘Gaita Colombiana’, bansuris, duduk, cello, marimbas, and many more. It will take you to other dimensions and tell you different stories through sound. This album is an electronic, ethnic journey that seeks to reveal the unknown. Through musical transformation, metamorphosis and fusion, I tried to find a sound that balances between the electronic contemporary and the organic folkloric, in order to preserve the roots and cultural diversity of the world.

You can never really expect where he will take you with his new release, you get the sense that he’s carving out the path as he’s walking. On the B-side, we find none other than brother Toffe, the master of suspense - dubbing it out with a reshape of the title track "Saturnian Dub" in an homage to the deity of the golden age of abundance and peace.
