An edition of 30 clear lathe-cut dubplates will accompany the digital release.

New York-based label Kindergarten Records is thrilled to unveil Ayesha’s (@aye5ha) debut album, ‘Rhythm is Memory’ – 10 boundary-pushing tracks, a shape-shifting percussive journey with electric moments. While intended for maximum dancefloor impact, Ayesha’s first LP is also conceptually thought-provoking and playful, exploring how bodies store and channel creative knowledge.

There were rules to this business, it wasn’t like any stranger could walk in off the street and make it to the top with a few flashy moves. There were principles which had to be learnt, experiences which would humble even the hardest of street veterans.

This sort of stuff took time, time he didn’t have.

Instead, he was looking for the quick, fast flick which might separate him from the rest and streamline his career to the top rank.

Some sort of trick, some sort of technology which might short circuit the whole game.

Cassius Select brings the Bass on a new compilation for Bristol label Amity. Featuring alongside the likes of Pluralist and qgb – this one packs a punch, the kind which stings for a while after.

To celebrate the endless journey of Vv Pete’s West Sydney anthem ‘Frauds’ Trackwork are releasing a slew of new remixes from local club heavy hitters DJ Plead, Strict Face, Rydeen & Grasps. 

Accompanying Mall Grab’s explosive remix of Frauds earlier this year, the collection spans hard hitting percussion to emotional trap landscapes utilising Vv’s iconic vocal delivery, and unique instrumentation of producer’s Utility & Cassius Select.

Adelaide’s Strict Face finally drops his metallic, Baile Funk-infused rework that has been playing throughout clubs for the last 6 months, surfacing in mixes including a recent Utility & Vv Pete mix for NTS Radio with YL Hooi. Grasps (of Sydney power duo Agony) weaves melodically rich textures, while fellow Sydney-based producer and DJ, Rydeen, sculpts a club ready heater with eccentric, chopped up layers of samples. 

After murdering Trackwork’s Vivid Sydney show ‘Club Service’, as well as a current EU Tour, Lebanese-Australian club legend DJ Plead’s relentless yet subtly buried Duduk trills lay under a bed of percussive claps, and highly active sub patterns framing Vv in completely new light.

Frauds (DJ Plead Remix)

As part of the first release from the Czech Republic-label Markham Road, French producer Beatrice M. contributes to their VA compilation with 'BAZ' – a dub-style heavy track that brings you to the sweet spot of low end frequencies. The compilation is spined by frequent collaborators of its sister platform Infame Radio. The consequent nine tracks vary along a scale of percussive rhythms both relating to established and experimental ideas. As a trial in itself, this project took shape through exponential conversations between all those creatively involved.

Abnormal is the sound of DJ JM ratcheting it up a notch, both in production-value and musical creativity. The title itself stands as a compact explainer of DJ JM’s constant sonic assignment – Abnormal consolidates years of JM’s work to keep club music weird and unexpected. Retaining the chunky percussion and quick-stepping rhythms he built his name on, the EP also contains intricate, cleverly designed sound-beds, and extends the menacing electro-techno swagger DJ JM began exploring on his previous No Days Off and Squash EPs.

Preferring synths over samples, Abnormal is filled with sudden bursts of psychedelic melody, off-kilter audio-manipulations and bubbling acid-trip basslines. The tracks also have a subtle but distinctly Lithuanian edge, drawing influence from the iterative, morphing patterns of the folk symbols and insignia carved into the remains of ancient settlements near Vilnius.

Set for release on his Man Band label, ‘Speed Oddity vol. III’ deploys accelerated styles to exhilarating effect. Peak-time, breakneck rudeness that darts between genres with reckless abandon. 

Our pick - the appropriately titled ‘hash mix’ of ‘Blades’ - marks a departure from what we've come to expect of the series. Low-end surge still intact, Kami opts for smoked-out breaks while ditching the original’s hard-edged ferocity in favour of gentler hues and woozy rolige.

Nervous Horizon is delighted to welcome New York-based producer and DJ Ma Sha to the roster with a high-voltage three-track EP titled "Elastik".

For her Nervous Horizon debut, the Kindergarten' honcho immerses herself in a solitary sonic journey drawing inspiration from the concept of self-isolation-induced time distortion and the interplay of the diverse rhythms intertwining in her environment. From the quick motion of people outside her Ridgewood apartment juxtaposed with the slow, fluid movements of her indoor plants, to the intense traffic on Myrtle Ave contrasting the flowing red light shadows on her studio walls, Ma Sha blends warped reality and sound exploration forming the perfect collage.

Shaping her distinct solo sound with a focus on finding a balance between her critical thinking and intuition, each track resonates with different emotional states. By aligning heavily time-stretched elements with chopping and granulation techniques, Ma Sha skillfully incorporates the altered time concept within the tracks' structure. If "KV December" mirrors unpredictable emotional fluctuations, in both "Myrtle Warp" and "Psyspi" vocal textures' shifts and layered synths co-exist with bold and sharp percussion. Accompanied by a fresh take by Ehua on one of the originals, the EP unravels around a warped perception of time while consistently maintaining the playful atmosphere that defines Ma Sha's personality and the music that truly inspires her.

Enter the wormhole with Japanese-based artist Dayzero, whose 3-track EP ‘Bare Brain’ is an exemplary exploration of LSD-laden, feverish club cuts that float along the fault line between slower, rolling tempos and twiddly, frantic double-time percussion elements. Tsuyoshi channels the kaleidoscopic, unbearable brightness of the mind and it’s potential throughout.

Having featured on labels such as Livity Sound & ZamZam Sounds, Dayzero makes a confident leap away from his dubstep affiliations to explore a more agitated, aerobically-respirated approach to dance music, whilst still carrying key components of his signature repertoire with him into the fray. FM notes, LFOs and constantly twisting harmonics pair with an expanse of BPMs and arrangements.
