17th April sees prolific Italian DJ/Producer Stefano Kosa release his debut EP on POPOF’s renowned imprint, FORM Music – entitled ‘Warrior’.

Since emerging in 2011, Milan-born Stefano Kosa has positioned himself as one to watch. Past releases on labels such as Toolroom, Elrow, Night Light Records and Deeperfect have garnered him support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, who often spins his tracks during performances.

‘Queen Of My House’ kicks off the four-track EP, a stomping-groover that combines a tight selection of drums and percussive fills with looped vocals and deep, rumbling Sub-bass.

‘Warrior (Dub Mix)’ follows on, and once again sees Stefano blending heavy Techno sounds with Tech-House rhythms, utilising dark synth stabs to add further tension and intensity to this excellent six-minute number.

Next up comes ‘In A Trip’, a psychedelic offering that relies heavily on the tribal-inspired percussion that offsets the mesmerising pad tones, flowing in well crafted builds and breakdowns.

Closing the EP is French DJ/producer and FORM favourite Noisered, who remixes ‘In A Trip’, turning the track into a stripped down deep-groover that boasts an abundance of intriguing vocal samples.
 
‘Warrior’ EP is available via Beatport on 17th April and everywhere else two weeks later.

Stefano Kosa - Queen Of My House (Original Mix) Snippet

Since his SCI+TEC debut, ’This And That’, back in 2014, we’ve seen Offenbach’s Wigbert flourish and develop
into one of the most exciting young producers of today. With a talent for exploring fresh tangents and textures
of sound, the German has become a creative conductor among his fellow minimal mercenaries. Having rocked
the recent SCI+TEC 10 showcase in Beirut alongside label boss Dubfire and fresh from the release of his
fantastic remix of Gregor Tresher’s ‘Quiet Distortion’, Wigbert now unveils his excellent new ‘Rain Shower’ EP.
The title track showcases, to perfection, the power of ‘less is more’. Single note bass stabs and bouncing
droplets create a feeling of expanse, as synth chords wash through in intense waves, building to a cloudburst
crescendo.
Adopting a similar albeit more powerful bounce, Wigbert propels us with washes of sound and rabid snares as
we take flight on ‘Airplane’, before he closes out the release with the powerful synth driven monster that is
‘Weird Chords’. Not so odd, but incredibly effective and yet another SCI+TEC stunner.

Sascha Funke, einer der ganz Großen in Sachen Techno aus Deutschland, stellt mit Saschienne sein neues Projekt vor - Techno meets Pop & Indie.

Debütalbum von Sascha Funkes neuem Projekt Saschienne, das der Berliner Produzent gemeinsam mit seiner Frau, der Sängerin und Multiinstrumentalistin Julienne Dessagne, ins Leben gerufen hat. Sascha Funke ist einer der großen Techno-Autoren Deutschlands und das Genie hinter den Bestseller-Alben "Bravo" und "Mango". Saschienne ist kein kurzweiliges Band-Experiment, sondern eine feste Partnerschaft mit Horizont. Bereits die ersten Tracks bezeugen die vollständig ausformulierte Meisterschaft auf der Klaviatur der Tanz-Emotionen, stets oszillierend und irgendwo zwischen gezupfter Introspektion und kompromissloser Hymne. Seine erste Single "Campus" auf Kompakt von 1999, verschaffte dem damaligen Newcomer direkt einen glücklichen Start, hechtete er doch im Gefolge der ersten Releases von Meilenstein zu Meilenstein. Jetzt kehrt Sascha zu seinem allerersten Label zurück. Nach 13 Jahren als Techno-Produzent hat Sascha, dank Julienne, die Freude der guten, alten Zeiten im Studio wiederentdeckt. "Sie hat mir eine Tür geöffnet, die ich vorher nie gesehen habe, und hinter der sich die Begeisterung und die Freiheit verbergen, die es mir erlauben, in völlig andere Richtungen zu gehen als zuvor."
