When I think of concurrently feeling sad and sexy, I think of periods of romantic trial and adjustment. I think matters of the heart and nethers, much as matters of identity, can be a long process of negation—finding out who you are not in order to find out who you are; determining who/what does not ultimately attract you in a sustainable manner in order to better hone in on who/what does. 

This mix is about knowing when it’s time to change things up, to step back from social gatherings and outings in order to take stock internally and ensure that you’re attracting that which you want to attract, putting energy in the right places, and moving in a direction that feels true to you. The arrangement of songs I’ve put together narrates having a moment of clarity during a night at the club and realizing that it’s time to head out and take a walk home for reflection. I tried to use clarity as an added module throughout the mix to aid this narrative. Getting together with others is just as important as taking space and time for oneself to process, hopefully this mix might help in providing that to others, especially now as we all return to clubbing in Berlin.
