For this weeks podcast we decided to massively up the tempo from last weeks stunningly relaxed effort with a detour into the fast paced terrain of drum and bass and naturally turned to DC Breaks to provide this weeks exclusive podcast. 

For those of you less than familiar with the D&B pioneers it all started when Andy C’s seminal imprint Ram Records signed several tracks to Frequency Recordings back in 2005. This steady stream of releases helped cement the act's profile as both supreme DJs and future leaders of drum and bass and saw them storm the scene over the coming years, unleashing their anthemic basslines on dancefloors from London to LA, bringing big hype to the scene with remixes for major international artists  and labels such as Universal, Sony, Island, Parlophone, EMI and Ministry of Sound.

Far from studio hermits DC Breaks have spent years crafting their unique live performance in clubs and festivals around the world, DJing across 6 decks and two mixers, and as a result  have forged  a reputation as one of the most exciting acts in Drum & Bass for their willingness to break boundaries. So with this in mind and a fresh release entitled Gambino/Burning ft Camden Cox set to drop on Ram Records on November 18th, a remix for Loadstar on the horizon and a series of upcoming dates in Oxford and Bologna before returning to the capital for Ram’s Xmas bash on December 12th we thought the time was right to welcome them to the DT podcast to deliver the energy of one of their sets to all our fans not quite lucky enough to catch them in the flesh over the coming months!

Episode 043 - Subset

Over the last four years, LA-based producer and DJ, Getter has established himself as one of the best rising acts in American made bass music. He's released a number of styles from dubstep to trap and drum & bass on Rottun, Firepower Records, and more recently OWSLA with the excellent "Head Splitter" single and a remix of Carmada's "Maybe". 

Following a new rework of spooky black's "reason" and another more experimental release with his latest single, "The Heat", 2015 is starting to look like Getter's most diverse and expansive production year yet. Check our interview with Getter along with the MiniMix tracklist below.

Nest HQ Guest Mix: Nite School Klik (DJ Shadow & G Jones)

Calyx & TeeBee’s first collaborated together in 2004, their history started in 1998 when they were introduced as label-mates on the Moving Shadow imprint.  In the following years the two artists would forge a reputation of high-quality releases on some of D&B’s most respected labels.

The first two tracks they produced together were ‘Follow The Leader’ and ‘Cyclone’, both appeared on Calyx’s debut album ‘No Turning Back’ and were used by Rockstar North as part of advert campaign for their videogame, 'Midnight Club'.

Their first album together as an 'official' duo was 2007's 'Anatomy LP', which proved to be even more successful. It ended up topping sales charts for months and it took the guys all around the world to play some of the biggest
parties going with their unique six-decks DJ show.

5 Years in the works, Calyx & TeeBee are about the drop their highly anticipated 2nd LP, 'All Or Nothing' which has been tipped by many to be one 2012's dance albums of the year. Expect to hear a little something from that in
today's Data Transmission podcast.

Will Knighton is Brighton based Music Producer/DJ Dismantle, one of the finest talents to have emerged from the UK Bass scene. Never one to be pigeon-holed, he regularly blurs the boundaries of House/Bass/Techno and Dubstep with his productions which have garnered plays from taste-makers such as Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Diplo and Mista Jam.

This year he released his 'Warp EP' on the Digital Soundboy label and produced massive remixes for A-Trak and Toddla T.  In amongst all of this he had a 4 week residency on BBC 1 Xtra in October and he's been working on his debut album, due for release in 2013.

And before you come see him at Kings Cross on Saturday 12th January with Eli & Fur, Last Japan, and Rik Parkinson for out next DT Party...
