Mattia is joining Anahita of Makaan -مکان ( @user-463777418 ) in today’s Artists Without Borders

Sardinian-born, London-based DJ/producer and chef Mattia Fois is known for his raw, hypnotic, modular sound. Moving between the studio and the kitchen, he blends rhythms.

As of all episodes, they’ll start with a one-hour conversation, and then Mattia will close the evening with his unique and hypnotic set.

French-Born and now based in London, with Moroccan and Algerian roots, Sarah’s Journey as a DJ hasn’t been easy. In her culture, pursuing a path in music, especially as a woman, is far from the norm. To follow her passion, she’s had to keep her work hidden, but her love for the craft shines through in every track she plays. Coming to London was her way of re-discovering herself, and through that, she discovered a passion for Techno music and then, a few years later, for the art of DJing.

Her style is a fusion of high-energy grooves, with heavy basslines blended with dark and hypnotic rhythms with a touch of Breakbeat and Electro. Through her music, Sarah creates a space for exploration, vulnerability, and self-discovery, offering others the sense of love and belonging she found in the queer rave community.

Based in East London, Alison is a proud trans pole dancer known for blending fierce athleticism with raw self-expression. With a passion for queer visibility, they use pole as both art and activism, challenging norms, celebrating trans bodies, and carving out space in the performance world. Whether in underground clubs or community-led showcases, Alison moves with purpose, power, and pride.

Oculus is an artist who focuses on combining forward-thinking techno with elements taken from
all kinds of electronic music.
Originally from Sydney and now based in London, his productions are being played across the
underground London scene by a wide range of artists. In the last few months, Oculus has
secured releases on Deadline Records, Makaan and Death Bell with multiple releases lined up
for the rest of the year. If thought-provoking sound design combined with addictive grooves is
what you find interesting, then be sure to listen in.

We’re delighted to share a true collectors item of a mix; a 7 hour b2b from Jane Fitz & Carl H, recorded at Transmissions in Studio 94, London in December 2021.

Some live recordings need to be put out quickly before the music ages and the records become overplayed, but not this one. It could be from any time over the years as timeless-tune-after-sought-after-banger are built and blended with the kind of precision and flow that can only come from DJ’s like Jane and Carl. 

From the low-slung start spanning EBM and downtempo gems through to the tunnelling psychedelic crescendo, this is a true masterclass in how to build and pace a set… and it sounds just as incredible today as it did on the night.

The recording of my ambient set at Sustain Release Year 11, opening the Bossa Lounge on Saturday evening from 9PM-midnight. 

This set is 3 hours from the heart journeying through time&space across ambient, downtempo, trip hop, acoustic instrumentals, synthesiser pieces and all inbetween 💞 

This is one of my favourite ambient DJing experiences I've had, I felt so at home in the Bossa Lounge and such a deep sense of attentiveness from the audience, thank you to all those who travelled with me on this trip.

Inspired by nostalgic and avant-garde electronic sounds since her early teenage years, HBM has developed her music taste around hypnotic techno, atmospheric ambient, psychedelic sounds and IDM/tribe. Collecting tracks with a preference for loopy patterns, dreamy pads, groovy rhythms, and trancey basslines, HBM’s goal is to drive the audience through a cathartic journey - dancing through obscure thoughts, meditative states, and sensual expressions.

@stakhan is taking care of the second part with a special darkness mix inspired from early summer 90's raves in Italy.
