Fugist is a Berlin-based DJ and former orchestra conductor whose background in classical music shapes his distinctive approach to techno. Known for his precision and storytelling behind the decks, he brings an orchestral sensibility to club sound, blending structure, tension, and release with depth and emotion. Spinning mainly on vinyl, his sets merge the discipline of classical composition with the raw energy of industrial, groove, and experimental sounds. Since beginning his vinyl journey in 2023, Fugist has performed at Tresor, appeared on HÖR, and holds a residency at Ficken3000.

This mix experiments with industrial textures, groovier rhythms, and a touch of dubstep — an eclectic combination that captures Fugist’s layered, unpredictable style and sense of sonic drama.

BCCO Mix Series 715: Fugist

Amphia (she/they) is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist and DJ based between London and Berlin. Their sets move through hypnotic techno, percussive rhythms and layered sound design, creating immersive and emotionally charged journeys. As a resident at M.A.S. Limited, Amphia has built a reputation for deep, atmospheric sets that balance intensity with reflection, shaped by their background in experimental sound and identity-focused art.

Recorded shortly after moving to Berlin, this mix captures a moment of change and adaptation. Slower in tempo than their usual sets, it flows through calm and tension, mirroring the challenges and emotions of starting anew. It’s an intimate and personal listen, built from patience, focus and honesty behind the decks.

As founder and resident of OECUS, he’s helped shape the collective into a respected name in forward-thinking techno, curating over 400 podcasts and releases that emphasise community, discovery, and strong sonic identity. His own productions, including the concept-driven Prototype series, explore contrast and tension, turning subtle evolution into powerful movement.

This mix showcases a deep, atmospheric sound that still carries punch and drive. Built with patience and precision, it focuses on texture and flow rather than peaks, with a few unreleased tracks that hint at where his sound is heading next.

For Trans Awareness Week 2025, we’re spotlighting trans and non-binary artists with a special SoundCloud mix series curated by @bodyshift. Each set is an invitation to listen with an open heart, to care, and to act with intention.

Awareness means listening, amplifying, and protecting what’s vulnerable and too often unheard. When dignity is debated, we choose action: book, pay, credit, platform, and protect trans and non-binary artists. Visibility matters. Joy matters. Safety matters. Let’s make all three non-negotiable for the future leading to Trans Day of Remembrance on 20th of November.

TEDESCO is a Venezuelan DJ and producer whose sound fuses Latin rhythms with techno, bass, and breaks. Their genre-blurring approach has brought them to stages across the UK and Europe, while their London-based queer party, 2CPerrea, celebrates Latinx culture and community through music and dance.

Recorded just after a Halloween gig in London, this mix marks a return to TEDESCO’s techno roots — a balance between Latin club energy and hypnotic rhythm. It reflects the joy of reconnecting with sound, movement, and the crowd after a summer of unforgettable sets, including a highlight performance for BCCO at AEDEN in Berlin.

Nora Asteroid is a Swiss-born DJ and artist who blends industrial European techno with hypnotic, Scandinavian-influenced trance and ambient. Her sets focus on texture, rhythmic variation and long-form progression, moving between drummed patterns, subtle psychedelia and steady 4x4 rhythms. She hosts EUPHONICA on Switzerland’s Transition Radio and has played DIY and club shows in Bern, Hamburg, Malmö and Copenhagen. Her approach favors atmosphere and careful transitions over obvious peaks.

Marta Aurelia skillfully combines minimalism with boldness and never fails to add an element of emotional depth to her carefully curated sets. Musically active since the age of five, she channels a lifelong relationship with sound into every moment she plays. The Hamburg local thrives on building bridges and blends contrasts to craft a unique language of connection. In and beyond the scene, she uses her platform to advocate for feminist perspectives and gender equality, striving to open up space for more diverse voices.

INTERVIEW
What do you think is the most important message that techno conveys?

Leave your ego at home! Techno and raves can create free spaces and offer new perspectives. It helps if we don’t take ourselves too seriously in the process—no matter which side of the booth we’re on.

What was your favorite dancefloor experience and why?

It’s more of a feeling that can return again and again in the right contexts (both for me as a DJ and as someone dancing): when I notice how I’m arriving in the music together with the people around me, and my sense of time fades away. There’s so much work and heart that goes into raves, clubs, festivals. When everything runs so smoothly that a form of collective lightness can arise on the floor, that’s something truly magical.

Is there a dream gig or a location where you absolutely want to play one day?

I absolutely want to play a really massive festival stage at some point! I’ll keep the details to myself for now. Right now, I’m also dreaming above all that our subcultural spaces won’t continue to diminish—and that I’ll be able to return for a long time to the floors I’ve already had the chance to play.
