Regular collaborators Stevie R & Parisinos land on AZZUR for a new single featuring the vocal talents of singer Ellivia. The pair have previously shared their organic, acidic slow burners on Playground, Roam, Povilno and Stevie's Inside Out Records but with the addition of Ellivia's hypnotic vocals on 'The Way We Play', their sonics are taken to new heights. The single is twisted into new shapes and forms on the flip by R$N family member Bawrut, Roam alumni Kate Stein and Dharma.

Presenting their second release of the year, Just Movement opens the summer season by welcoming Zone + to the label for his debut single. Bahrain born Dubai based producer Zone + aka Zeyad Mohsen has been a fixture of the deep house community for the better part of a decade. Having firmly established himself with a resonate worldly sound and releases via All Day I Dream, Akbal Music, Hoomidaas and Sol Selectas; Zone + now sits as one of organic music’s elite talents. Also, a consummate DJ, Zone + has taken his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills to some of the world’s premiere clubs and festivals, playing alongside Behrouz, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Rodriguez Jr., YokoO and more. Now, in a year that has seen Zone + feature on Tim Green’s recent Balance compilation, he continues to impress with his Just Movement debut ‘Labyrinth’, alongside a remix from Hermanez.

With a whimsical flair, it is the original mix which leads the release off. Warm, voluptuous basslines lay the foundation for spirited vocal elements and panoramic arps to work their magic. Driving percussive arrangements maintain an energetic cadence, while timely chord changes and placid pads move from esoteric to emotive leading into the break. Masterfully constructed, the interlude delights with its buoyant rhythmic themes, eventually melting down to calming percussive rides, perfectly setting the course for a groovy finale.

The release concludes with Hermanez making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Labyrinth’. Hailing from Belgium, Hermanez brings an inventive approach to his brand of electronic composition. Throughout his varied discography, he touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling a divide between intergalactic design and organic-inspired beats, resulting in one amorphous sound of his own. Initially known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music and Suara, the Genk resident has enjoyed a career renaissance across the last half decade, remodelling his sound with deeper, more musical and delightfully organic leanings. It’s a shift that has propelled him into one of the genre’s elite talents, in turn landing him projects via All Day I Dream, Bedrock, Lost & Found, Souksonic and TRYBESof. Now, fresh off an EP for YokoO’s SATYA imprint, Hermanez makes his Just Movement debut with a spiritual take on ‘Labyrinth’. While maintaining the glowing spirit of the original, the Belgian artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, a transcendent journey into an organic hinterland, where fragmented vocals, warm synth phrasing and charming effects surface from their exotic architecture, onwards to a finale of balmy grooves and haunting overlays.

Exclusive: Impérieux - Smooth Skinned Prince

Berliner by choice Impérieux returns to Isolate and contributes his track Smooth Skinned Prince to the label's Mutations series - meant to give music from fresh and aspiring artists a home. However, with Impérieux still sounding fresh the artist surely has left his mark and overcome the status of an aspiring producer in the scene: releases on Marcus Worgull's Chorus imprint or Innervisions speak for itself. His Smooth Skinned Prince take for Mutations III comes in with frisky eastern strings, vintage squeaks and could be the follow-up of Impérieux's Stopped Growing for a Year. The intriguing nostalgia, a trademark of the artist's productions, probably hits the zeitgeist of recurring thoughts of a better past than a pandemic present.

Mutations III will be released on Isolate on January 22nd, 2021.
