Departure From The Nordic Wastelands

The comet speeds onward, a beautiful sight,
Tracing a path in the cosmic dark night.
Away from the Sun, to a cold, distant lee,
It races far out to its point of Aphélie.
The distance is great, the light grows quite dim,
At the farthest extent of the orbital rim.
It lingers a moment, for all eyes to see,
Before turning back from its dark Aphélie.
