Australian-based producer, DJ, and musician Ed Temple creates musical musings inspired by 'post-disco' something, something.

An artist with a love for vintage synthesizers, spring reverb, live musicians and classic drum machines, he is driven by a lifelong pursuit: to create music that moves the body and touches the soul.

Temple has warmed up for countless underground A-list artists touring Australia, including Rick Wilhite, Luke Una, Osunlade, Trus’me, Rahaan, Alkalino, Hidden Spheres, and Harvey Sutherland among others. He has also left his mark on numerous festivals and nightclubs across the country.

Ed Temple performs his original music with an 8-piece band, called TEMPLE MAGIC ORCHESTRA (yes this is a nod to those Japanese pioneers). This ensemble delivers live house music with only drum machines for backing tracks, featuring a string trio, a full horn section, live percussion, keys and dubdy FX filling out the rest. It’s something to behold and is a super fun experience to say the least.

And if you've yet to witness Ed Temple DJ, brace yourself for a journey. He effortlessly shifts gears, exploring musical landscapes blending disco, afro, jazz, techno, boogie, and rare house cuts. On the dance floor Ed Temple evokes an infectious connection with the dancers. Where he is not the focus, the music is, it's a place where love, togetherness and the sharing of musical vibrations are the only intentions.

SAN FRANCISCO—In a bold career move, local band Crop Top has announced their plan to play the exact same three Mission District venues on repeat until "something big happens." The quartet, known for combining aggressive punk riffs with suspiciously sweet melodies, has vowed to keep cycling between The Make Out Room, Knockout, and Kilowatt like some kind of sonic Groundhog Day.

"We're pretty sure one day we'll wake up famous," said lead singer and eternal optimist, Ethan Sacré. “We’ve done the math. Three venues, three chords, three fans—it’s bound to snowball.”

Despite their impressive talent for balancing punk energy with harmonies that could charm your grandma, the band seems curiously uninterested in expanding their reach beyond the Mission District. "Why mess with perfection?" asked bassist Ben Adams, referencing their tightly controlled three-bar show radius. "We figure we’ll just keep playing these places until Rolling Stone calls. Or until our rent goes up again—whichever comes first."

Until then, Crop Top will be found at one of their regular haunts, stubbornly performing to loyal fans and whoever else wandered in by mistake.
