It's hard to dedicate good amounts of time to listening to physical records, so when I had a few hours this afternoon, I decided to play some of my most recent records that have been piling up on my "unfiled" shelf (everyone has one of those, right? just in, unorganized, unplayed, etc?!)I hit the record button without any destination in mind, and ported it into 9128.live (as I often do in these ad-hoc instances) and set forth with no agenda. It starts a little unsure in style, as I try to feel where I want to take it, and a few dodgy transitions for not knowing the records too well yet, but the universe quickly pushes me into an IDM/synth-heavy world.

buusto is a DJ and music producer based in Brooklyn, NY. He is a resident DJ at Newtown Radio where he co-hosts Club Dub Radio. He also co-founded the Club Dub collective, a community of like-minded DJs and producers involved in the thriving underground techno scene in Brooklyn. buusto is inspired by lush ambient breaks, wavy psychedelic synths, and deep tribal drums. His sound is a reflection of his musical journey — constantly searching for something new, while staying reminiscent of the past.

GIOGIA — #10 w/ GRåZON

This is a vinyl mix containing 30 out of the 49 of the records I acquired in 2024.

Looking over those 49 records, I will say that I have doubled down on the dubby rhythms, totally neglected the UK sound and stayed strong on the trippy techno buzz. In general, I am seeking out more stripped back minimal tracks, be that of house or techno, and I do not entertain as much "aggressive" music as I used to (except in the live setting).

My favourite record from this year might be Hess & Fürstenberg - Campfire Dialogue on Echocord Color, of which both sides were included in this mix. These tracks make for great transitions up and down in tempo and atmosphere.

In terms of my Plattenladen habits - Hard Wax and Audio In reign supreme 👑

She has been a resident for Alibi Works and co-founder of Bureau Noir event labels in San Francisco. She is currently working on creating her own deep and minimal sound.
