[ LIVE MATERIAL SERIES N°9 ]

Hi everyone. Today I'm glad to present you the ninth of the 'Live Material Series'. Wildfire Part 9 (Naughty Electro Mix) is one of the very few tracks I never removed from my liveset. What I do like with this one is that it sums up pretty well what the initial Wildfire live universe was: a bizarre mix between nostalgic melodies, and heavy, distorted electro sounds.

My goal when making this live version of Wildfire Part 9 was to make something relatively close to the original one, but more danceable, and of course, more 'acid'. So I kept the main synth chords from the original track, I added a few BPM to the tempo, and then I created several acid patterns that fitted well with the dynamics of the synth chords. When these elements were in place, I created this kind of 'French touch 2.0' electro beat, with this signature overcompressed snare sound one can hear in almost every Justice or SebastiAn early tracks.

The final touch was to add a distorted version of the original synth bass. Actually, I wanted to make it sound like it was answering to the acid sound, like in a naughtiness duel or something. I realized afterwards that this distorted synth bass was even giving more emphasis to the heavy electro feel of the whole track, which I founded rather pleasing as you can imagine.
