Bird of Paradise returns to Join Our Club and he’s brought his Pulse Generator with him, the lead track is a melodic, moody, mid tempo beast, a track that very much sums up our sound at JOC.  On the remix we welcome Kieran Holden who turns in a chirpy acidic take while retaining the mood of the original track, a fantastic debut on the label.

Next up is Alone Again as with the EP’s title track the melodies are there, something of a feature in BoPs work, a lush throbbing bass line and shuffling percussion drive the track.  Label bosses People Get Real remix Alone Again their version breaks up the drums and take that bass line even deeper.

Die Orangen, aka aussie producers Dreems & Kris Baha are teaming up for the first time with 2 new unreleased jams under their new alias. Slow and atmospheric, yet punching and grooving Die Orangen managed to meltdown genres into 100bpm 11 minute long trippy trancey bonanza with a substantial amount of jungle psychedelia and heavy drum machines. One Day in Sheperton is a more drum oriented industrial power house tune. With the diggerido and distorted voices coming in towards its 2nd half. This ep includes, as expected from the Malka Tuti crew, with awesome remixes by Italian maestros Fabrizio Mamarella (of Slow Motion records) and Alessandro Adriani (of Mannequin records), Oodandatta Rain is an ep that throws the listener back to the early days of partying in Anjuna beach, when trance was not yet a genre, but a state of mind, and where the "tribal element" could be found in all sorts of bizzarre contexts and remote corners...

Cultivated Electronics is celebrating 10 years as a label in 2017 with its 20th release ‘Ten Year Electronics’.  This is the final chapter in a 5 part collaborative series that has seen CE label head Sync 24 team up with other artists, which have previously included Morphology, The Exaltics, Silicon Scally and DMX Krew.

On this one, legendary UK maverick and general Electro don, Radioactive Man (Keith Tenniswood / Two Lone Swordsmen) joins Sync 24 on ‘Eliptical’, a squelching and shimmering track that’s laced with electronic funk.

Sync 24, or Phil to his mum, has been making sure proper electro stays relevant in the modern era for over a decade, with a string of personal releases strectching back to 2003. His own imprint, Cultivated Electronics, acts as a home for his own and other like minded projects, and its output proves that electro's stripped back and anarchic grooviness is as essential now as it has ever been. After getting into him via a stormer of an EP on Sheffield's CPU records, we had to check out his live set at the Electrix records showcase at Bloc and he certainly didn't disappoint- a cavalcade of clattering rhythms and chilly synth business was one of the highlights of the whole weekend.

Keith Tenniswood, better known as Radioactive Man and to most perhaps, as one half of Two Lone Swordsmen with Andrew Weatherall, has a sound with a big heart, underpinned by electro-driven funk. Over the years, he’s put many accolades to his name – credited with co-producing with David Holmes the award winning ‘Lets Get Killed’, engineering the live sound for Sabres of Paradise on the Primal Scream UK tour in 96, being among the first to contribute to Fabric’s mooted mix series, and for Tenniswood it’s still his Swordsmen era album ‘Tiny Reminders’ that is to this day one of his proudest moments.

PREMIERE: Sync 24 & Radioactive Man - Eliptical (CE020)

‘Plannt’ begins with some unaccompanied moody chords which quickly fold in favour of a truly arresting electro composition, and this is where @shinra truly allows himself to shine. The underlying rhythmic sirens help to highlight the sheer density of this track and its elements: the flexible and richly layered nature which persists throughout means that ‘Plannt’ is one that can suit both listening on the floor and on headphones in equal measure.
