A Lesser Culture is the solo project of multi­instrumentalist Christian Carpenter Fields, formerly of Phoenix, AZ band Skybox. Throughout the duration of playing with Skybox, Christian has had the pleasure of touring the country with the likes of Tally Hall, Jukebox The Ghost & Via Audio... playing such festivals as CMJ, SXSW, Lollapalooza and Old St. Pat's Block Party opening for Ben Folds.

After the dissolution of Skybox, he found himself with a valuable set of arranging skills that was left wanting for a foundation – A set of shapes and lines for which to set down his colors and textures. Reverting back to his childhood roots as a lover of hiphop, he soon found himself rifling through the pages of his rap hero's sources – A world of funk and soul, giving him a platform to hone is songwriting skills. Utilizing his self ­taught approach to music creation coupled with his fresh interpretation of said funk/soul conventions, Christian produces a confused and broken set of pieces that are danceable, full of pain & anger but not without a sense of humor.

The Rio, Brasilia today, Christian Perrú Belisario, known as Battan, began his career at age 16, in 1998 began to get involved with the Drum n Bass and had recognition of the public and the media ... then turned his life for Psychedelic trance. In the party "Abril Pro Trance" a few months later, on the farm (Cold Water Alto Paraíso - GO) made his first appearance of psytrance, with various dj s, including the Dj Mak and Dj Omar. He continued his career performing in the biggest psytrance events of the Federal District. From 2001 to 2004 Battan been out of DF most of the time going to play at parties in Uberlândia, MG, Uberaba-MG, Anapolis-GO, Goiânia, GO, GO-Alto Paraíso, São Jorge-GO-TO Palmas, Paranaíba MS, Crystalline-GO, Carrancas-MG, Franca-SP, Corumbá-GO Heels, Pirenópolis-GO, Taiwan-GO, Arraial D'Ajuda, Bahia, Trancoso, Bahia, Caraiva-BA-BA Luis Eduardo Magalhães, etc. playing at various parties and alternative festivals, including the second, third and fourth edition of the Universe Festival Paralello. In the 3rd edition of the Loveparade, still in 2001, the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet, had the opportunity to touch the "Trance Trio" environment, with DJ Rica Amaral (SP), DJ Alex Dee (Germany) and the DJ Ekanta (GO). In 2002 Battan came in full force, after 10 days in Brazil in Trance in Carrancas, Minas Gerais, where he made several presentations. Always following the global trends DJ Battan is updated and has Set's of various musical styles with a focus on electronic music in Techno, Minimal, Indian Dance and Deep House, Prog Trance and Psy Trance, and still RAP and Hip Hop and even Black Music, Reggae, Ambient and Chill out! DJ Battan has performed at events from an incredible range of musical genres because it has more than 20 years playing on the slopes of parties and festivals of Brasilia and Brazil and is remembered for playing nicely dancing and good music refined taste. Performed at the party Brazilian Independence Party in 2010 after the acclaimed Dj Hopper and before the big Dj Arnaldo Amaral in the Sixth House Sessions in Arun (106 South) and many other parties. In 2011 played at Infinity Paradise psytrance and techno in Psycotrance in 2013, yet in 2013 DJ Battan touched Rap and Hip Hop at the opening of the "Great Circle" in America Rock Club in Taguatinga-DF, was played techno set`s in pubs and has been highly praised for fan's, DJs and producers around the country! In 2015 Battan started producing his own music in tech-house, deep house, techno, minimal house, minimal techno and psychedelic trance styles!
