➤ About this VA:
100 years ago the world lived in chaos. Huge wars between humans, as well as great advances in technology that changed forever the face of the world, a world that according to many artists, lived as a prisoner of the rational mind and that did not allow us humans to understand life and the Universe in its wide spectrum.

This is how, with its mystical origin in Dadaism, Surrealism was born. A movement that sought to explore and venture into the limits of the human mind through art. Initially literature, but also reaching the visual arts and so much more. Then decades later, the first psychedelic artists were born, much closer to music in its origins and who represented a rebellion against the established norms in the face of a world in chaos.

Today after 100 years, the scenario is complex again. There are wars, there is a technological revolution and the world is coming out of a great chaos caused by a virus that produced a great crisis. Can we perhaps learn something from the ideas of surrealism, to understand today's world?, remove ourselves from the entirely rational mind to which technology and the "information society" push us, to finally understand the world from an alternative perspective?

Making this compilation was a leap into the void, a mixture of psychic automatism and cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse) that ended with a very free, authentic and very fresh result, with the wonder of the unexpected, including very purely electronic songs, with ideas of techno and even psy trance, like other more tropical ones with psychedelic cumbia, of course others more pop and the others, those that are usually there in our music, the ones totally trippy.

We hope you enjoy this great compilation full of freedom and unusual ideas, which will help you connect with another world through music, rhythm and love, thank you eternally!

ORKIDZ is a Moroccan/American multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ currently based in Portugal. His music is a reflection of his multiculturalism and his life experiences as a biologist, traveler and collector of traditional and folklore music from around the world. His style combines ethnic, melodic and organic elements with deep electronic sounds covering genres such as Organic House/ Downtempo/ Dub, Afro House, Deep and Melodic House and more.

He has performed as a DJ and as a live electronic act playing instruments such as Guitar, Oud, Dan sen and other traditional instruments and has released music with labels Sol Selectas, Cosmic Awakenings, Cafe de Anatolia, Lump Records, Shango Records and more. His music is in perpetual evolution as he strives to take listeners on new and exciting musical and spiritual journeys

➤ About the EP :
"Yohana" is a journey into the shadows of the jungle. The sound of these songs are heavily influenced from my first experience with Abuela Aya, where she came to me, in my mind and body, in the form of a serpent. She spoke to me, showed me her power, her essence, I felt her movement and heard her sound, and I connected deeply with her spirit. I saw the shadow world that exists parallel to our reality everywhere, I learned that the energy of the shadows cannot be defined as good or bad but have their own unique power and influence on us.

➤ About the song :
"Jambudvipa" is the dvīpa ("island" or "continent") of the terrestrial world, as envisioned in the cosmologies of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, which is the realm where ordinary human beings live and originated. I created this song in December and January while I was living in India. After some friends there told me this legend I felt inspired to create a song that was connected to this story. The word Jambudvīpa literally refers to "the land of Jambu trees" where jambu is the Indian Blackberry and dvīpa has two meanings "island" or "continent" and "planets" situated in the ocean of outer space. "The planets are called dvīpas. Outer space is like an ocean of air. Just as there are islands in the watery ocean, these planets in the ocean of space are called dvīpas, or islands in outer space"
