Monkeys In The Middle

Originally from the Pacific Northwest in the U.S., John is a jazz guitarist, and composer, heavily influenced by George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Larry Coryell, Howard Roberts, Kenny Burrell, Barney Kessel, Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, and guitarists Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco de Lucia.

During the late 80s and through the 90s, the breadth of fantastic local musicians, and the dense culture of creativity in the Seattle area left enduring impressions on John’s approach to composition, and his quest to find balance between the technical and lyrical. And though he considers both feet planted firmly in the Jazz genre, his compositions and playing style travel through Blues, Flamenco, Classic, and Modern Rock, and then straight back to Jazz.
