Producing pure, minimalist analogue-minded techno (even though his career began as a drummer with the industrial label Wax Trax), Steve Stoll has recorded for his own label Proper NYC, Trax Records, Djax, Nova Mute and many more, including his recent appearances on Nina Kraviz's imprint Trip. This record on New York Trax is the essence of Steve Stoll's style: minimal, driving, with a subtle groove that sinks in the rich texture of sound. It connects the dots between the past, present, and the future of the New York sound.
