"Gladiator II" finds director Ridley Scott crafting a sequel to his Oscar Best Picture-winning film "Gladiator" 24 years later. Many of his frequent collaborators came on board to help him bring the time of Ancient Rome back on the big screen again, and we at Next Best Picture were lucky enough to interview a few of them. First is my interview with actor Fred Hechinger, who plays Emperor Caracalla, followed by Giovanni Lago's interviews with Costume Designer Janty Yates and Production Designer Arthur Max, and we end with my interview with Visual Effects Supervisor Mark Bakowski. Please be sure to check out the film, which is now playing in theaters from Paramount Pictures and is up for your consideration in all eligible categories at this year's Academy Awards. Interviews With Actor Fred Hechinger & The Crafts Behind "Gladiator II"

"Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story" is the second season of the American biographical crime drama anthology television series Monster, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan for Netflix. The season centers on the 1989 parricides of José (Javier Bardem) and Kitty Menendez (Chloë Sevigny), who were killed by their sons, Lyle (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Erik (Cooper Koch). It uses the Rashomon effect as a narrative device by presenting key events through multiple perspectives and unreliable narrators, leaving the "truth" open to interpretation.  The season achieved global commercial success, debuting as the number-one series on Netflix worldwide, the most-viewed streaming content on the Nielsen Streaming Chart, and the third most-watched Netflix series in the second half of 2024. At the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, it earned 11 nominations, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Koch and Sevigny, respectively. "Adolescence" is a British television psychological crime drama series created by Emmy nominees Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham and directed by Emmy nominee Philip Barantini. It centers on a 13-year-old schoolboy, Jamie Miller (Emmy nominee Owen Cooper), who is arrested after the murder of a girl in his school. Each of its episodes was shot in one continuous take. The limited series received critical acclaim for its directing, writing, and cinematography, with special attention paid to its atmosphere and performances. It has received thirteen nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, including for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and acting nominations for Graham, Ashley Walters, Christine Tremarco, Cooper, and Erin Doherty. "The Toxic Avenger" is a 2023 American superhero black comedy splatter film written and directed by Macon Blair. It is the fifth installment, a reboot of the "The Toxic Avenger" film series, and a remake of the 1984 film. The film stars Peter Dinklage as the title character, alongside Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon. It premiered as the opening film of Fantastic Fest on September 21, 2023, and received positive reviews for its tone, makeup, homages to the original, and Peter Dinklage's performance.
