Da Iguana is the solo musical project of Pierre, a French traveller, multidisciplinary & nomadic artist based in France. Since his first official release in 2018, the LP "Itzamna" on Berlin-based downtempo label Urban Cosmonaut Radio, he step by step gained exposure to become a respected act in psychedelic, tribal and multicultural electronic music scenes.

One of the most prolific producers on the scene, he worked on EPs, LPs, collabs, edits and remixes with many respected imprints : Hard Fist (FR), Playground Records (AR/ES), Random Collective (CR), Tepeme Musica (MX), Caballito Netlabel (ES), Shango Records (GR), Curuba Records (FR), Casa Caos (BR), Jux (FR), Kontrapost (DE), SABI (JP), Copycow (DE) and more.

Mash-up lover and sound explorer in love with fusion of styles, from Cumbia Digital to Organic Downtempo, Psychedelic & Indie House to Tribal Techno, percussive Bass Music or Ambient works, always playing around with groovy bass gimmicks, percussions, psychedelic sound design, traditional music sampling and real instruments (guitar, bass guitar, oud, kalimbas, djembe, bongos, congas, darbuka, singing...).

A few weeks ago, I woke up in bed to find a letter in my own handwriting.

"The Assembly of Many Names, duly convened and vested with authority across dimensions, hereby declares, as a matter of immutable principle, that tracks imbued with the memory of motion must not be confined or withheld. Such works, herein referred to as 'dance tracks,' are to spill freely into shadowed rooms, loud, unhindered and unbound. The practice of gatekeeping shall henceforth be abolished."

This could only mean one thing: it’s time to put together a new EP series. Starting with some tracks inspired by Tokyo's dancefloors I got to experience last summer. The next volumes will follow in their own time—every few months if I can keep up. I wouldn’t dare to challenge the Assembly.

Estonian based DJ and producer Hugo Mesi presents Spicy Baked Lentil, a four-track EP simmering with rhythm and grit. The first track rides a steady groove, rich with percussive detail, while the second original ups the tempo for a sharper, restless drive. On remix duties, Niklass pares things back into a lean, rolling cut, and Kurir reshapes the energy into something darker and more twisted. A full plate of flavors, served hot.

The stars aligned, our creative force combined, and so this mix became our initiation into Conjuring Spirits.  

We crafted this for a cosy little gathering in a forest close to Berlin, named Die Letzte Wiese, the day was 06.09.2020 
It was a Sunday, the vibe was Hot and we were Fire.

Later on we recorded this sonic diary of the happenings from that day, in a ritual for music (at home).
