Recorded live at The Catacombs in Tampa Florida for my monthly residency, Dark Heart Disco.

Dark Heart Disco is a sonic exploration of Dark Disco, Industrial, Synthpop, Italo Disco, EBM and New Beat in the format and context of rave music. 

From arpeggios to acid, from 909 kick drums to breakbeats, resident djs Brian Busto & Rat Galactic will take you from an early 80’s discoteca, to a 90’s warehouse rave, to the Haçienda and back again.

My most varied and ambitious set to date!  

Hope you enjoy AnnandEdance - I put a lot of thought, time and energy into this interpretation of Ecstatic Dance.

From 0 bpm to 67 winding up to 126 and then back to stillness

Ambient - Downtempo - House - Techno - Broken Beat  - Progressive - House - Ambient

It's an extended journey just over 3 hours so longer then normal Ecstatic Dance formet.  And more 4/4 than most Edance but there is broken house and downtempo and evena Drum and Bass track in the mix

The Parkcast Vol. 35 - Dunmore Park Live at The Downtown Defrost 2024

This set from 04-14-24 really exemplifies my deep house curation and mixing style.  

For 6 months I've been digging through my collection, resisting the urge to buy new music and instead learning my 29-year music collection better.

Over that time, I went back through and labeled thousands of tracks by energy and feeling and created playlists from there.  

The overall energy of this mix is uplifting and dreamy, starting and ending more vocal. 

You won't know many, or perhaps any, of the tracks.

The tracks were mixed on CDJ 3000s.

Never synced, never looped, never wasting time with filters and effects with just one track playing.

Fully concentrated on blending two tracks together beautifully with subtle EQ-ing only.

It's so weird, I was thinking this was the best I'd ever done with my levels on a live mix, perhaps because I was being a good boy, carefully watching the decibel meter at Mars Bar :) 

I added the fade in and out in Logic and gave it a light mastering in LANDR.  There I got a message that my mix was lacking in dynamic range - meaning there might not be enough difference between the high and low levels of the mix - which on a live DJ mix, I am taking as a compliment 100% :)

Our sunrise outting at Burning Man is one of my favorite happenings each year. It's a culmination of our art car project, the Dirty Goat Roadhouse, DJing, and celebrating a new day with loved ones. It's pretty special. 
This mix is a selection of tracks that I don't play out very often. These are not bangers or heavy hitters, but a collection of minimal/deep/tech/melodic house music spanning over 15 years. This sunrise was right before the big storms, the sky was spectacular. Please enjoy the mello vibes.

Midnight in a Perfect World KEXP

Niall Augustine discovered the midwest rave scene in the early 90s and began DJing a few years later. Heavily influenced by the underground music of Detroit and Chicago, he became fully immersed and began  seeking out the newest vinyl. After relocating to San Francisco in 2000, he continues to bring his passion for music to clubs, warehouses, undergrounds, beaches, and deserts.
