Factory Inspection

Characters Represented: Daft Punk (ft. Pharrell) & Dr. Robotnik

So I'm dying to talk about this piece in particular. Little known fact about this piece: I JUST noticed iteachvader as an artist 3 days prior to even planning to make this piece. Alongside "Objection Funk", "Robotnik Rock" was the song that got me permanently hooked to his material. I didn't know that he and SiIva had a sort of "history" beforehand, nor did I know he had a problem with SiIva to begin with, but I went ahead and went with the submission anyway, which I'm glad I did.

I didn't want to just do a mashup of "Robotnik Rock" and "Robot Rock", so I decided to add Pharrell's vocals from N.E.R.D.'s "Rock Star", and the rest was history. A massive highlight was when Robotnik was talking about "doing anything" and I used Pharrell's vocals to make the whole sequence golden: 24K golden. SiIvaGunner backroom and YTP legend Omknee acknoledged it (as it was his favorite part), alongside praising the arrangement as a whole and deeming it his favorite rip of the tournament, which I'm honored to be a favorite of someone's, let alone someone from the backroom.

Also, iteachvader himself commented on the video and commended my performance, later complimenting me when I responded to him, which made me very excited in general. To this day, the arrangement is my second most popular rip of all time, right behind "Fall Breaks", which I am very proud of. This was a piece that I will never forget, making, listening, and feeling the love from.

Robotnik Rock Star

I actually made this one the same day as the Bowser Road one, but I didn't want to post it yet for reasons that escape me. Good thing too because I made the mix better.

Like last time, this was made with an exported sequence using N64SoundList Tool.

Hazy Maze Cave but it's Wario Land 4

This one I found considerably easier to frequency slot for than 40 Below Fridge. One interesting thing about this one is the guitar's harmony thing, the plinkier second guitar, is actually a Subtractor patch, but the Softube Amp covers that up. I also wanted to go for a sort of vintage sound to the brighter colors in this track, to add to that feeling of eeriness, like your main comforts-- the drums for example-- aren't quite as real as the threatening noises you don't know the source of.

Wario Maker: Crescent Moon Village

Originally this was a Heavily Armored Pokey thing but I wanted to do more with it and the first section by definition can only have the three pulses and the noise. I'll post it if someone wants to hear that unrefined wip. Update: actually maybe not, I don't know where it is. I mean, I can go looking for it, though.
