Pop Star's Requiem

Characters Represented: Daft Punk (ft. Pharrell) & Dr. Robotnik

So I'm dying to talk about this piece in particular. Little known fact about this piece: I JUST noticed iteachvader as an artist 3 days prior to even planning to make this piece. Alongside "Objection Funk", "Robotnik Rock" was the song that got me permanently hooked to his material. I didn't know that he and SiIva had a sort of "history" beforehand, nor did I know he had a problem with SiIva to begin with, but I went ahead and went with the submission anyway, which I'm glad I did.

I didn't want to just do a mashup of "Robotnik Rock" and "Robot Rock", so I decided to add Pharrell's vocals from N.E.R.D.'s "Rock Star", and the rest was history. A massive highlight was when Robotnik was talking about "doing anything" and I used Pharrell's vocals to make the whole sequence golden: 24K golden. SiIvaGunner backroom and YTP legend Omknee acknoledged it (as it was his favorite part), alongside praising the arrangement as a whole and deeming it his favorite rip of the tournament, which I'm honored to be a favorite of someone's, let alone someone from the backroom.

Also, iteachvader himself commented on the video and commended my performance, later complimenting me when I responded to him, which made me very excited in general. To this day, the arrangement is my second most popular rip of all time, right behind "Fall Breaks", which I am very proud of. This was a piece that I will never forget, making, listening, and feeling the love from.
