SAVINA & DRONES


사비나앤드론즈, 라는 이름에서 SAVINA는 그녀의 세례명과 인도의 음악 시타르(sitar)에서  ' 퉁기는 하나의 줄의 진동에의해 공명하여 울리는 소리' 라는 뜻을 가진 DRONE이라는 단어의 조합으로  즉  "사비나의 음악 그리고 그것에의해 듣는이의 가슴이 공명하여 울리는 소리 " 를 의미한다.
음악이란 소리를 내는 개체와 그것을 듣는 개체가 하나가 되었을 때 비로소 본디 진정성을 갖게된다는 그녀자신의 음악에대한 진심과 가치관을 이름에서부터 드러낸다.
-음악을 하는것만큼 음악을 듣는것은 더없이 아니 미칠듯이 행복하다.- 
그녀와의 인터뷰 중에서

이름의 의미처럼 그녀의 음악은 실로 듣는이에게 수많은 감정들과 위로를 주기에 치유와 함께 그들 스스로에게 그것을 겪어내게 하는 용기를 준다.

거친 파도와 희뿌연 안개속에 흙모래알처럼 부서지는듯한 강렬하면서도 아련한 사운드에 계절에 바랜 낙엽처럼 깊게 물드는 보이스컬러가 아찔한 조화를이루는 사비나앤드론즈의 음악!

초연한 목소리로 삶을 노래하는 아름다운 그녀. 

이런 그녀가 음악을 하기위해서 실제로 그녀는 많은것을 잃거나 혹은 얻어내야만 했다.

" 현실이 내게 요구한 냉철함에게 나의 감성은 매일 매맞고 울어댔다"


그녀가 음악을 할 수 있게된 계기는 다름아닌 죽어가는 자신이었다.
음악없이는 결코 살 수 없었다는 그녀는 자신 내면의 울림을 느끼는것만큼 슬픈건 없었다고 조용히 고백한다. 
그녀에게 음악은 간절함이었다. 
그런 그녀에게 그녀 스스로가  타고난 운명의 비극 같은것이 되어버렸던것은 아닐까.

그녀의 나이 스물 셋,  그녀의 길지않은 모진 삶과 자아의 경험은 그녀의 음악에 모순이라는 치명적인 요점으로 작용한다. 강렬한 팜므파탈의 노래에는 지극히 상반되는 그녀만의 맑고 순수한 보이스이다. 
그녀의 나이 스물 셋, 그녀의  나이에 이토록 자연스럽게 음악이 스며드는 까닭은 그런 그녀이기에 가능하다는 것이 아닐런지.


그녀에게 SAVINA & DRONES 라는 이름은 숨과같은 것. 

그러기에 그녀의 음악에는 모순 이라는 요소를 덮어주는 진정성이 부여된다.

더는 버틸수 없다라고 느끼던 그녀는 친구이자 싱어송라이터 POE 에 의해 지금의 스승이자 그녀가 소울메이트라 칭하는 프로듀서 김영준을 만나게 된다.

그녀의 음악은 트랜드와 장르에서 자유롭다. 그것을 가능하게하는 가장 중요하고 기본이 되는 요소는 바로 그녀 자신이고 그 시작과 바탕은 바로 그녀의 프로듀서 김영준이었다.

김영준은 그녀를 " 야수 " 라고 표현한다. 그가 그녀라는 배고픈 야수를 길들이기에 음악은 무엇보다 강력한 먹이임에 충분했다.  

김영준은 그녀를 통해 다양한 음악적 시도를 한다. 
그녀의 첫번째 EP에는 그녀가 사랑하는 1960'년대의 소울,포크,재즈 그리고 70'년대의 그런지 락이 담겨있다. 이는 광활한 음악적 지식과 감각을 지닌 프로듀서 김영준과 그녀에게 내재되어있는 음악적 강점이 절묘하게 들어맞았기 때문에 가능했다.

그가 만들어내는 곡에 그녀는 특유의 푸석한목소리와 섬세한 감성으로 즉흥적으로 멜로디를 만들어부른다.
이로써 그들의 음악은 리얼리티를 갖게된다.

그녀의 자유로운 음악에 굳이 장르를 부여하자면 그녀는
'모던히피 ( MODERN HIPPIE)'라고 정의한다.
통념적 구속과 억압에서 벗어나 자유로움과 현실에대한 초연함 그리고 감정과 욕망에 대한 솔직함을 표현하고자 하는 그들의 음악은 1960년대 히피와 닮아있다.

"지친 일상의 끝에 저물어 가는 하루의 어느 모서리에서 
오늘도 세상을 겪어낸 당신을 위로해주는 음악"

그녀를 표현하고자 한다면 '바랜 빛' ' 눈물의 온도 ' 그리고 '못의 수면' 이라고 
하고싶다.

음악이라는 빛은 그녀를 비추고 그녀는 그 빛을 온몸으로 투영한다.
스스로를 음악의 전달매개체 라고 표현하는 그녀는 
'진정한' 이라는 수식어와 어울리는 진정한 뮤지션이다.


희뿌연 안개속에서 잿빛으로 은둔한 그녀를 찾아가 물었다.


TAKE 1. BACKER

나를 찾나요? 아찔한 미소를 지으며 멀리서 그녀가 보인다.
그러나 그 미소와 달리 그녀는 왠지 거리를 좁히는것을 허용하지 않는다.

'선을 넘어서는 순간 불안한 관계와  우리의 아름다운 서로는 사라져 "  


TAKE 2. MOON LIGHT

추락을 꿈꾸는 어느 집시여인의 달빛을 향해 부르는 애절한 노래!
비루한 그녀를 유일하게 붙잡는 한줄기 끈이있다면, 부서진 꿈처럼 자신또한 버려달라고 달빛에게 노래하는 유일한 순간.


TAKE 3. STAY

피아노선율과 비트 그리고 보이스만으로 채워지는 MODERN FRENCH 스타일의 이 곡은 떠나가는 사랑을 붙잡고싶은 마음과 차마 붙잡지 못하는 마음을 표현한 곡.
누구나 한번쯤 경험해본 애절함을 그녀의 목소리가 더욱 아프게 한다.
그녀의 실제 경험이 노래와 가사에 그대로 표현되어져 완성도를 높인 곡이다.


TAKE 4. TIME

언제나처럼 시간은 붙잡을 수 없이 흘러간다.

정열로 타오르는 불꽃 
짙고 강렬한 울림을 갖는 클래식 기타의 현과 전반적인 곡 전체에 울리는 타악기의 리듬이 절묘하게 어울려 이국적인 분위기를 물씬 풍긴다.


TAKE 5. TAKE IT SLOW WAY

서정적인 가사에 담긴 진리, 그녀가 특유의 삶에대한 초연한 자세로 노래하는 이 곡은 그녀의 이번EP에서 들을 수 있는 가장 편안하면서도 부드러운 모던포크곡이다.
최소한의 악기와 절제되어있는 보이스로 풍부한 사운드를 만들어내고있는 이 곡에는 그녀가 사람들에게 하고싶은 말들이 시적으로 표현되어있다.

TAKE 6. R

파격적인 가사와 거침없는 사운드로 70년대 그런지락을 그대로 재현하다!
과감하고 차가운 기타현과 삶에 찌든듯한 그녀의 짜증스러우면서도 냉소적인 보이스는  절묘한 어울림과 과감한 시도를 보여준다. 
곡이 시작되는 어느새 눈앞의 도시는 짙은 안개가 깔리고 담배연기로 꽉 찬 어느 어두운 공간에서 그녀는 어제의 끔찍한 사건을 아무렇지않은듯 중얼댄다. 
마지막 트랙인 [R]은 지금껏들은것과는 또다른 그녀의 매력을 엿볼 수 있어 다음 앨범에대한 기대와 암시를 담고있다.

I've been looking for authorizations to release this track on my upcoming album, but I didn't had any feedback, sadly for me.
