He combines his own vocals to live instrumentation giving us a classic feel of his anything but classic technique. Private Practice exhibits Nick’s creative manner of turning an instrumental session in the studio into a club jam while breaking away from any structured, regimented sound. Finally, you might think, and right on time for the open-air season. Now, two years after „Syvsover“, the Berlin-based Dane, Jesper Ryom, is ready with his latest release „The Two Of Us“ – providing us with the perfect soundtrack for the hot days and the warm nights. Radiating euphoria with each bassline and elegantly bridging house and pop, these four tracks will both make you break out in sweat and put a smile upon your face.
Tied together with a hypnotically energetic feel, each track is a journey into the timeless depths of Jesper Ryom’s stylistically confident sounds. And while layers of intricate atmosphere continuously is added on to each beat, Ryom doesn’t forget the floor for a single second. The waiting has finally paid off and these four tunes are sure to enrichen the summer vibe, whether spent partying or basking by a lake.

1. The Two Of Us
Title track and opener "The Two Of Us" perfectly demonstrates Jesper Ryom's penchant for layered sampling combined with modern elements, as the synth bassline and direct groove of the drums provide the backdrop for this funky yet subtly melancholic track.


2. Trivia
"Trivia" confidently ups the energy level and directly targets the floor. With reverberating brass samples, unapologetic arpeggios and dusty vocals, its simple message is one of movement and smiles.


3. Ada
Vocal-driven "Ada" is decidedly melodic and contemplative while still balancing these qualities with a consistent groove. While the lyrically enigmatic vocal sample drives the verse, the chorus is dominated by both melancholic 80s chords and an arpeggiated lead.

4. Superluminal
The funky guitar, subdued percussion and pulsating beat of "Superluminal" takes you by the hand and pulls you onto the dance floor. As the grooving piano is slowly unveiled amidst 707 claps and tambourine hits there is no doubt about the potential of this tune.

Here comes the fourth teaser for the 25 years Compost anniversary 10x12” – box-set. And what a stellar one. First of all, Lorenz Rhode “Back” in a Purple Disco Machine remix. The original was a 12” B-side hidden gem, released 2007 on Compost, but it caused a worldwide stir and became a true worldwide underground hit in the break dance scene. Dozens of break dancers, crews and schools used “Back” for their break dance rehearsals. We have cut a nice video of ca. 20 dancers and crews, which we found on YouTube, showing their amazing moves and grooves with “Back” in background. And to top that: Purple Disco Machine lays his funky disco hands onto it! 2018 was the year for Purple Disco Machine with four of the biggest dance tracks, with almost a few hundred million streams, various No 1 charts hits and as a high point: #2 “Beatport Artist Of All Time”. Nuff said.

Liquid Phonk’s “Starwalk” is a wonderful blax-ploited disco-house ride. It’s one of Michael Reinboth’s favorite tracks of the 25 years anniversary 10x12” box set (out of 42 tracks). Another hit maker brings down a round figure: Spiller, do you remember his world hit “Groovejet” from 2000, he gave the Trüby Trio “Make A Move” a kinda 80’s ska-disco skank groove. Very funny uplifting. Enjoy.

Fred Everything welcome a new member to the Lazy Days family, Paul Rudder from Barcelona. Paul’s been busy of late with releases on the mighty Peppermint Jam and Exploited labels. Paul’s music is the definition of what we would listen to on lazy days. Sample based, yet organic, Paul loves to use Piano samples with live percussions. On Remix duty, no one less than Till Von Sein.

Till released a beautiful balearic album earlier this year. He kept the remix on that vibe, a bit dreamy with added live guitar and percussions. The opposite of what you would expect from a Berlin producer.
