Who is Omayra?

On November 13, 1985, when the Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted in Colombia, it was trapped for 60 hours between water, concrete and other dead people.

On November 13, 1985, the volcanic volcano "Nevado del Ruiz" became active and erupted.

Locals called him the "Sleeping Lion". Because it was last activated in 1845 and had not moved for 130 years. It wasn't actually a sleeping volcano,
It was government officials who didn't care about him. The active volcano also hit the village where Omayra lived.

Before I could understand what had happened, Omayra's waist down was under the sliding soil due to the erupting volcano, and water began to accumulate slowly.
Omayra clung to the wreckage for life, and the next day a journalist saw Omayra's hand.

Volunteers in the area were immediately summoned and a major effort began to save Omayra.

But it was impossible to get Omayra out of her position without breaking her legs.
Moreover, every time they tried to take Omayra out, the surrounding water rose and prevented Omayra from breathing.

Looking under the water, a few people noticed that Omayra's legs were stuck under the brick door.
At the same time, they saw another person underwater: under Omayra's legs, her aunt, who died when she collapsed on the door.
Despite this situation, Omayra sang songs to the journalists around her, never complained about her situation even once, and was waiting to be rescued, telling the journalists that she wanted candy and soda.
He even accepted an interview offer.

But in time, when the materials to save him did not arrive,
Omayra was beginning to delirium as her body temperature slowly began to drop. To the journalists next to you
 He was saying, "Go and rest," and he thought of his daily life… "I'm late for school… I have a math exam…"

When the pump came to drain the water, it was understood that Omayra's legs had gangrene and had to be amputated.
However, due to the pollution in the environment, it was understood that he would die with greater pain as a result of this operation.
It was therefore thought that the prudent act was to let Omayra die.
Omayra's pain lasted for 60 hours, and in these 60 hours, Omayra did not show her pain even once and did not cry.
He just laughed, talked and sang. His last words were, "Mother, if you can hear me I'm guessing you're praying that I can get up and walk again and these people save me.
Mom I love you and my dad and my brother. Goodbye mom.
