Started singing and playing in high school. I was fortunate to have 2 educations in music: school and home. My family loved music and I was introduced to Classical, Flamenco, Blues, Ballads, Irish Drinking Songs, Holiday Songs, Jazz, so many types of music. I played in the Stage Band and sang in the chorus. I continued to play guitar and some keyboards into my late teens and took some lesson on the piano. Touched on the Violin and the Trumpet. Soon I started jamming with local players and had my first band that played out. This was called Glidden Zarr. The name came from two cans on a shelf in a basement where some of us jammed. This was a great band and I sang lead. It was Tim Sharpe on Drums, Mark Stachina on bass, Jimmy Frech on guitar and Mark Woodard on lead guitar RIP. We had a nice list of Zepplin, Boston etc. but did not do originals and since I was writing a great deal I got discouraged and left to start my own act. In the interim I auditioned and partied way too much and lost some really outstanding chances to sing lead for some very good bands. Regrets there.
