For almost 20 years, James Steer has consistently and unassumingly contributed to the after-hours soundtrack of Melbourne. Well respected within the underground Melbourne DJ community, James has built a reputation as a selector who deftly balances exquisite taste with technical execution. James cut his teeth as one of the founders of the legendary Deep Chord Melbourne parties in the early noughties, showcasing the emerging deep minimal sounds of the time to an eager and receptive audience. The party started off as an intimate affair in the confines of the upstairs space of Pony Bar (later Boney), before finding a true home in the legendary basement space of the Mercat Cross. Since then, James has regularly graced the decks at some of Melbourne’s most iconic nightspots, equally adept at delivering funk and disco laden suppertime soundtracks as heaving excursions into deep dance floor dynamics. Drawing from a vast, genre-defying collection, James’ sets offer the listener/dancer a guided tour through the fundamentals of depth, always evolving and never stagnant, a glimpse into the now, with a respectful nod to what’s come before.

Night People are a deep House and Disco  outfit from the Portsmouth area . 
Night people was set up in 2009 as an outlet to play the music we love ,with out complying to any format . Basically, anything and everything goes Playing music from every corner of the dance.  

We hold our own partys at various venues in and around Portsmouth . With regular slots at  'THE BARN' , 'SAY WHAT' (Brighton) , 'INDIGO' (Portsmouth) and 'MIRRORBALL DISCO' (Portsmouth). 
Our love of music draws back to mid nineties sounds of proper US Garage from the likes of Kerri Chandler , MAW , Mood 2 Swing , Todd Terry , Ron Trent etc and deep house sounds of the UK by producers like Noel Watson , Phil Asher , DIY , Salt City Orchestra and many more . 

As our knowledge of Music grew, we introducing more varied styles to our sets . Playing records from Broken Beat / Nu jazz scene from the likes of Germany's Jazzanova and Truby Trio to londons favourite jazz heads - Patrick forge , New Sector Movements and Domu. At the same time we started playing alot more Disco and Funk . This is now what we are all about - good music!

An engine, in the following referred to by the term "N'djinn", is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into another.
In ultra-modern usage, N'djinn describes a device, akin to a steam engine as well as an internal combustion engine, that burn or otherwise consume fuel in order to perform, and this by way of thrust, thereby bestowing motion upon otherwise inert entities. N'djinn can indeed also be understood as a thermoacoustic device that uses both low and high-amplitude sound waves to pump heat from one place to another, typically from vinyl via turntables and mixer through membranes; ultimately reaching the sensory organs of all entities exposed to these waves. In general, the thermoacoustics of N'djinn can be divided into captivated wave and travelling wave devices, i.e. recordings of and/or live performances. In either case N'djinn uses electrical energy to produce musical energy, usually through the interaction of magnetic fields and current-carrying conductors. Given that the majority of recordings utilized in both settings are defined by their rotation, N'djinn's speed is measured in revolutions per minute (RPM), while N'djinn's impact is measured in beats per minute (BPM). Regarding the case of sound levels, N'djinn's operation is always undertaken with respect to the sources of the system in question.

Yet N'djinn is a hybrid; not only a machine capable of setting things in motion, but also a genie capable of assuming human form and exercising supranatural influence over people.
The existence of N'djinn can be proven, even though arguments concerning the origin of N'djinn are beyond human comprehension.
The body encapsulating N'djinn must either be ethereal or made of solid material; if composed merely of the former, it would not able to do hard work, like carrying heavy records. If composed of the latter, it would be visible to any human with functional eyes.
Based on a so-called "modern" world-view, reinterpretated references to N'djinn as a microorganism in the grand scheme of things or an undetectable uncivilized person also occur.
The supernaturality of N'djinn does not mean it transcends nature, but that it might appear so in relation to the ordinary/everyday perception of nature. As an entity it is "natural" in the classical philosopical sense by consisting of an element, undergoing change and being bound in time and space. Thus it is not purely spiritual, but also physical in nature, being able to interact in a tactile manner with people and objects, and also subject to bodily sensations like sights and sounds. N'djinn supposedly comes from a sublunary realm, prone to reflection, however in equal measure related to the solar wind and may even appear - as an element of surprise - in mists or sandstorms.
