Replay of Urban Night Grooves #153 featuring Susanne Alt in the guestmix. Susanne is a saxophone player, DJ and producer, born 1978 in Würzburg, Germany and based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Susanne grew up with both parents being musicians and music teachers. At the age of 18, after finishing her classical saxophone studies, she leaves Germany to study jazz saxophone in Amsterdam and afterwards Berlin.
Back in Amsterdam she starts her own band, the Susanne Alt Quartet and also begins to play with DJ’s. In 2004 she debutes as producer with her 2004 release Nocturne on her own record label Venus Tunes. Worldwide performances follow. In 2015 she has her first performances as DJ/saxophonist. After 5 jazz albums Susanne produced funk album “Saxify” which has been released in early 2016. In the meantime Susanne has been continuing several singles, both under her own name and collaborations with other artists.

Featuring Andrew Weatherall remixed tracks by New Order, Primal Scream, Happy Monday's, The Grid, The Doves, James, K-Klass, The Future Sound Of London and The Orb plus a whole host of ace remixes.

A young Weatherall, just like many of us, was seduced by the sleazy and funky sounds coming out of Factory Records and the Hacienda during it's hey day. The mix showcases Andrew's Factory Records remixes and his remixed tracks popular at the Hacienda, plus a few very special Weatherall remixes thrown in and thrown down for good measure.

All tracks are selected and mixed by @thefunkassassin with an enormous amount of Love & deepest Respect.

We first came across Divine Situation a couple of years back when their superb Born Again EP dropped courtesy of Moton Records. Their catalogue is now rammed to the hilt with euphoric hand-in-the-air Gospel cuts perfectly crafted for the dance-floor.
Divine Situation are Greg Belson and Paulo Fulci two long time producers and soulful music aficionados with an enviable history between them. We spoke to Greg and Paulo about their work so far, their digging legacy, radio shows and their track ‘Goin On’ on Midnight Riot’s ‘Take it To Church Vol. 3’ which has just landed and their future plans.
