15 Years of Virus Mix (Pt2) by Optical ☣

Undoubtedly known and revered the world over for his handling of a microphone, we've been super lucky in coaxing the legendary Stamina MC to put together something that bit extra special for us ahead of his DJ set in Room Two for Bukem In Session next Friday. Fully a regular here in Farringdon, Stamina's Bukem In Session mix was recorded especially for us, on a weekday, inside our venue and it serves as a real and proper insight into the sort of way he'll be playing when he steps up alongside LTJ Bukem, Doc Scott, Lenzman and Paul SG on the 29th August.

Stamina - FABRICLIVE x Bukem In Session Mix

DJ Marky is one of few electronic artists who pretty much sums up the word 'legend' in its entirety. Bearing a style and a degree of energy that transcends dancefloors around the globe, Marky has breathed a new life into the drum & bass scene since he first emerged back in the late 90s. With a knack for releasing chart hits alongside underground club cuts Marky’s held down a long standing residency here (under his Marky & Friends and Innerground banners) and when you see him live, it’s obvious that behind the beaming smile the masterful DJ means business. Who else can mix whilst gesturing a turntable like a violin, hauled up onto his shoulder?

He’ll be back once again on Friday 20th February for the latest instalment of his Innerground residency alongside Lenzman, Spirit and The Invaderz. Marky's kindly put together another mix to help stoke anticipation...

Music Therapy Promo Mix 1

Klute's taste and the man's command of intricate, rowdy and yet still quite slinky drum & bass music has long had him up on the underground pedestal. His Commercial Suicide label, as the name suggests, takes risks on releasing music for (and by) people who appreciate the finer workings of face paced, jungle influenced soundsystem music. But that doesn't mean that what he makes, releases and plays is necessarily a combination of any of those things. And whilst I appreciate that there's a sense of sweeping disregard in that last statement, there was definitely meant to be - Klute's consistently remained relevant by being resolute, sticking to his guns and working with music he believes in. 

That concentrated focus is undoubtedly one thing he shares with a lot of people who run a lot of record labels - or run their own operations for the upkeep of their own sanity - but when you think about the legacy of drum & bass, which is by design quite a young genre, there's a real synergy between Klute's operation and that of Goldie's Metalheadz label. Fastidious and committed to the advancement of their chosen form of music, the two parties feel like they were made for each other; which is why we're stoked to welcome Klute to the next Metalheadz takeover of Room One on 1st May. His appearance on that lineup really does tick a whole lot of d&b boxes, so we reached out and asked him if he wanted to do something to mark the occasion. He did this...
