multifun is a dj, the host of multimix & a graphic designer, based in Berlin. Depending on the situation and mood she aims to express, multifun's sound is flexible, genre-bending and eclectic. While performing in clubs, she loves to play energetic 90s influenced Trance, as well as Breaks, Jungle, Happy Hardcore, Hard Trance, Breakcore and Psy. Her selections are characterized by experimental elements, pumping kicks and cheesy, hard-to-not-sing-along-to vocals. From 140-210 bpm , she wants to challenge the status quo with her mixing style, always trying to surprise her audience with much multi fun x3.

I had so many ideas for this mix and I think that from the moment, when I started to think about it until I’ve finally recorded it, I went through at least 10 different concepts. I’ve finally decided to record a short breakbeat mix, cause this is the music that helped me survive the pandemic. From gabber and hardcore I’ve finally discovered oldschool breakbeat / hardcore and have been hooked since then. I rarely have a chance to play breaks at the club, so here you go. This is just a small taste from my messy collection.

Proper Charts is a weekly format bringing you a diverse line up of artists and DJs showcasing their personal current top 5 tracks. Presenting episode 8 of Radio Samt! We're tearing into spring with this thoughtful hour.

Frankfurt friend and talented DJ felix joins the Samt roster this month!
We'd been talking about a contribution to the series since last fall and I have been well surprised and in love with the mix. A dedicated researcher and lover of abstraction, Felix has put together a mix that reaches into the past & taps on the door of nostalgia while asking what it would be like to make first contact again. Could we translate nostalgia into evolved thinking? Are the feelings within us, summoned by music, our emotional translators? Is memory the only way to learn, or can we subvert patterns and relearn from the beginning?

"I remember the first time I heard the "this is not" mix by DJ Metatron. It captivated me on many levels up until now and helped me understand that few elements are enough to touch and captivate the listener. 
With this mix, I want to create a piece of the world that touched me back then, and even though one can never hear and experience something again for the first time, this mix made me feel like I became one with what I am hearing. And although almost everything is transient, the question that occupies me is what emotions would mean if we knew we could relive them at any time as if for the first time. So, in the world of today where one can easily be numbed to all the pain and suffering, music was always something I could hold onto to feel alive the most."
