@k-65uk - Thinking | I discovered K-65’s music quite recently and absolutely love how all of the tracks perfectly go with both techno and breakbeat.

BEERUS - Love4U | Breakbeat hardcore is the genre that has kept me going through pandemic and even though I rarely have a chance to play it, I listen to it a lot and this track by BEERUS is one of my current favourites.

DJ B (@big_bpm_crew) - See and Hear | My music collection is one huge mess. I often buy tracks that I never played and then rediscover these months later. This is one of them. I cannot wait to play it in a club one day.

@werobrave - OPERATOR | I guess everyone has heard about the Polish duo WE ROB RAVE by now. I simply have to play at least one track by them in my breaky sets.This one was played by me several times this summer.

@angeldlite - Re4mat | My first idea behind this mix was to play some of my favourite closing tracks. This is definitely one of them and I knew that whatever idea I’ll choose in the end, this track has to make it into this short mix. I’ve been playing this once for years and it’s not going anywhere. I cannot imagine ever getting tired of it :).

@discobabe2 is a DJ based in Leipzig and Halle. Almost one year ago she played her first gig ever so making this podcast episode was a bit special for her. In her sets she wants to show the variety of electronic music by playing different genres. Besides that, she enjoys playing some breaky stuff mixed with heavy kicks and dreamy tunes!

For our last episode this year we invited the amazing Dr. Schock <3

"For my last mix of 2023, I tried to combine my favorite genres and tracks hat I currently listen to on repeat. The result is a mix of bass, grime, trance and techno with a soft beginning and end. Enjoy while spending time with your loved ones or getting ready for New Year’s Eve."

Dr. Schock is a Vienna based DJ. She tries to break up borders of different genres like bass, baile techno and trance, puts her sets in a conceptual framework while not letting the energy of the crowd out of sight and has a soft spot for dreamy tunes. She is also co-founder of the feminist collective Chaya, where she regularly hosts parties with all flinta* line-ups.

Intruder.wav is the ideologue of the Carte Blanche label, a party organizer and producer from Chelyabinsk.

This EP was made on direct percussion and stabs, without the influence of timeless fashion trends. You can listen to it in different planes in order or backwards, start with the even ones, and continue with the odd ones and vice versa, everyone will find the optimal sequence for themselves.

The idea of these excerpts lies in the stab of each individual track, because the stab is something short, so to speak, fleeting, like life and everyone lives this life in their own way, and the direct blow that accompanies you throughout the whole path is like a metronome, that is, a certain programmed step, like time.

I had so many ideas for this mix and I think that from the moment, when I started to think about it until I’ve finally recorded it, I went through at least 10 different concepts. I’ve finally decided to record a short breakbeat mix, cause this is the music that helped me survive the pandemic. From gabber and hardcore I’ve finally discovered oldschool breakbeat / hardcore and have been hooked since then. I rarely have a chance to play breaks at the club, so here you go. This is just a small taste from my messy collection.

lil hurty is part of the @virgoleipzig collective and has a preference for chaotic and energetic music. While she doesn’t like to fixate on genres, you can find lots of bass, breaks and technoid elements as well, like rhythms from Latin bass or Jersey club in her Sets.
In her DJ beginnings, she mainly played Witchhouse and Cloud Rap as well as songs with ambient elements. In this set she tries to show the many genres she likes to include in her sets.

@zagczagczagc is a DJ, producer, and installation artist based in Ann Arbor Michigan, just outside Detroit. His music emphasizes texture and fluidity, weaving a dense tapestry of sound pierced by punchy percussion. Believing in the ability of dance music to color visions of an alternate world, it is made as much for forests and caves as it is for a traditional club floor. It dreams of space free from flat surfaces and right angles, something new, and strives to inspire the listener to feel and pursue that dream.
