DARIO FARIELLO is a saxophonist and violist devoted to improvised music. He studied musicology at the University of Bologna, where he co-founded the Bologna improvisers Orchestra. After touring extensively with the jazz-core band Luther Blissett, he moved to Berlin in 2011 to work with Tristan Honsinger and DJ Kolonel Blip; he co-founded Multiversal, a nomad festival series featuring a wide international network of improv and noise musicians. Now based in Oslo, his current projects include: ZGB, Sciardac, Farantimm, Resurgam, Bad Bender, a duo with Bård Torgersen, Fariello/Voglsinger, FarLie, In Its Own Tempo.
With Norbert Stammberger he organises the yearly Tubax Festival in Munich, dedicated to the tubax saxophone and other special instruments.

A journey through sound: dense, teeming, vindictive and bewitching. These 3 improvisers from the Grand Chahut Collectif like to emphasize the constant evolution of their music by not only using wide-ranging techniques inspired by concrete as well as electro-acoustic music, but also by customizing their instruments and exploring their timbres. Their music moves around, undulates, squeals and makes images spring forth.

Dario Fariello: alto sax
Eren İleri: turntable-triggered sax samples

The duo was born in summer 2009 in Istanbul. Eren İleri uses only prerecorded alto saxophone samples, and Dario plays with/under/on it. The dj plays rhythmically with this switch possibility: scratch and re-composition, superimposing voices.
After some concerts in Austria, Italy and Germany the sound bank evolved: they recorded long sounds made for scratching, wind sections, static soundscapes and multi-layer compositions.
