A name that many have been eagerly anticipating the next moves of, Dahu, has finally shrugged off his elusiveness and stepped out of the shadows. Emerging onto the scene with his much accredited debut EP ‘Deep in the Woods’, the young artist has set high standards for himself and looks set push off even further within the scene with his latest EP ‘North’. 

‘North‘ is a dark, moody affair that features two originals and a remix from Nick Devon each screaming with attitude. 

Title track ‘North’ upholds the feeling of the EP, full of energy and yet enigmatic in its dark undertones. Haunting synth lines circulate around a bellowing bassline, whilst glass bells and falling keys give added texture and atmosphere to this murky tale. 

Nick Devon steps up with his take on ‘North, with a remix that sharpens the elements of the original. Expertly balanced kickdrums lay against finely tuned hi-hats to give this remix a more classic house vibe. 

Closing the book is ‘How Do They Know’, a delicately deep track that seals the deal at the end of the night. Backed by a structured bassline that sits below sub, synth stabs become more and more melodic whilst strong piano chords fuel the emotion.

Nicolas has given it a warm approach, with layered melodic arrangements, repetitive hooks and crisp percussion. 
Jools Verne goes a bit more quirky on his re-take, still with a lot of “feel good” melodic vibes that give it a really fresh and forward thinking touch. 
Label veteran Damian Mazzeo do the work with deep and groovy bass lines, that definitely takes the track with another twist. That together with the melodic tweaks makes this a superb progressive journey.

Dont' get fooled by his name. This producer is German by name but Spanish by birth, German Brigante (which is actually his full real name) is an artist whose passion and dedication to producing infectious dancefloor grooves is unsurpassed. 
German Brigante is focused on a bumping form of house that aims straight for your hips and keeps dancefloors filled with energy. From his use of percussion to the deadly basslines he designs in his lab, German's sound is unmistakable and made to make people move.
Recent releases have come via some of the industries most renowned sources, including 2020 Vision, Dirty Bird, Saved, Get Physical and many more. 
When he sent a demo pack it was hard to pick a favorite - actually we signed 3 out of 4 tracks and here they are. Thanks to Joyce Muniz who forwarded us the demos.

After a long but short break a bunch of unexpected interpretations of Without Letters “Unfollow EP” finally got it’s shape. The remixes were made by Lithuanian artists, who are shattered all over the Europe. Straight from London comes an expected ZZ Popcorn „Heritage“ remix, which acoustically can be mistaken as an interpretation of Eurhythmics unknown song. The second interpretation of “Heritage” is made by Shkema, who is constantly involved in sound design projects for the Lithuanian National Drama Theater. The “Sight Lines” remix comes from Denmark. Konsistent, who was one of the initiators of “Untitled Tricks” illegal raves in Copenhagen, took a slow, almost balearic approach. The “Malaria” interpretation was made by the fresh the Berlin resident - Vaiper, who is basically a flag carrier of the Lithuanian trap scene and is a frontman of locally well known Despotin Fam Band. Versatile and quality staff for global ears over here.

We've been overwhelmed by the support and love over the past 10 months since we launched back in October 2011, with charts, plays and support from Sasha, Mark Knight, Sante, Moodymanc, Aki Bergen, Soul Minority, Zoe Xenia and many many more.

Over the last year we've signed 11 EP's (21 original tracks) from artists all over the world, so to celebrate coming to the end of the year one we've took every original track from SDR001 to SDR011 and had them remixed all over again.

On remix duties for SDR012A we are very pleased to have secured the services of Spain's QMUSSE and Maertz, Germany's Thomas Sonora, Greece's Nick Devon and Holland's Stefan K. These artists were all hand picked by the label bosses to create a new sound and feel to the tracks and remixes you've charted, played and supported over the past year.

Nick Devon is an Athens based DJ/producer whose involvement with electronic music has spanned more than two decades. His musical journey commenced at 16, when he started experimenting with toy pianos and pretty much anything that could produce notes. Before long he was playing his father’s vinyls and from here, quickly advanced to DJing and producing.

Initially producing drum & bass as well as trance, he later transitioned his sound, gravitating more towards electronica and techno. Hence his ability to unite a plethora of elements and genres throughout his current productions. His dark trippy melodic sounds are distinctive, forged through a combination of digital, analogue and physical instruments sourced within in his own studio. This admirable skill has earned him much respect from numerous high profile artists worldwide. As a former vinyl DJ, Nick is also an avid record collector and to this day, spins plenty of old and new records. He enjoys embellishing his vinyl love by including them in his gigs and sets where ever possible.

It was 2010 when he officially launched his solo project and from this point forward, Nick started producing sounds and music that shook the dance floor, yet bestowed captivating melodies and emotional soundscapes, allowing people to create their own story within his productions. Ever since then, Nick’s career swiftly evolved and 2015 was his most successful year to date with two huge EP’s titled “The Poem” and “Cosmos”. His remix on Innellea - Colante quickly followed in 2016 and with all three EP’s released on Steyoyoke Recordings, it clearly affirmed just why he is considered a core member of this Berlin based collective. His tracks have been remixed by the likes of Kellerkind, Rolland Appel and Cid Inc and with an ever growing fan base, his music is regularly played and supported by some of the biggest DJs around the globe. Throughout his career, Nick has released originals and produced remixes on a number of labels such as, iRecords, Union Jack, 3AM, Blindfold Recordings, Us & Them, Steyoyoke and Inside Out Records. It’s only the start of 2016 and with a string of upcoming releases to look forward to, Nick Devon certainly has some exciting things on the horizon.
