What more to say about Adriatique that hasn't already been said. Their mixsets are staples of the Cityfox podcasts for obvious reason. But this, a live recording from The Cityfox Experience: Enclave on April 5, 2014 in Brooklyn, demonstrates exactly why they've ascended so quickly to becoming favorites the world over to those fortunate enough to hear them live. Taking the decks after an opening from Naveen G (Listen to his full set, here: bit.ly/NGCF2014), they jumped right in, building pressure, the perfect anticipation for what they then unleashed. The spring was sprung, and it was entirely too much fun.

Adam Beyer’s new EP titled ‘Teach Me’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights Beyer's year thus far. 'Teach Me' starts with some eerie chords before the distinctive vocal kick in and the track drops into a rumbling techno track. ‘Darlek’ uses rhythmic beeps and huge synth stab to create a funky rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting for this incredible techno track. ‘Stop Talking’ is a deeper offering from Beyer using weird and unusual noises to create and interesting piece of work that is helped along by the throbbing bass underlying in the track. ‘Spaceman’ uses a rhythmic vocal, percussion and sub bass to turn this track into a funky techno piece.

Rollox, the title track goes first and is a tough, tense bit of tech with dark voices, sinewy synths and groaning basslines that keep high intensity levels of energy going throughout.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Taking the release-portfolio into account, Rampa built over the last years on Keinemusik, him adding a new EP to the labels catalogue is worth every credit of trust. And this very “Trust” EP is living up to that not only by its name. It certainly offers value for money, considering KM-releases have mostly been two-trackers. There are four cuts on this one, each one following a different approach, making it also a hella versatile record.

It opens with the titeltrack, the floor-mantra within this bunch. A ruminant groove, backed by lifting and dropping notes, launching a catchy synth-figure and adding up synth-layers until all tension drops into a break that’s as curative as a talk therapy. A track that, out of unshakable serenity, unleashes an irresistible energy.

The following “Entropie” comes closest to what could be considered a Rampa classic. Percussive loops that are scooped up with even more banging and clanking – check. Lurking synthbass in the back – check. Vocalsamples with tribal descent – double check. Generally, you’ll find a whole lot of folklore in this rhythm rich affair, that continuously is jazzing up to highest ecstasy levels.

The flipside opens with “Defiled”, led by a prominent synthline, that’s going through various filter highs and lows and gets bludgeoned by some vigorously swung claps. Raw, naked floor material lacking any flourish, that seems to even fire up a jackhammer during the break.

“Headsup” is concluding this set. Triggering the smell of watered sidewalks, lit-up only by flickering neon light, immersed in the depths of delay, this latenight-story finds some redemption and warmth within the glow of its soulful vocal samples.

As time goes by and the weather gets colder, one could tell, who ever went to the German black forest it could be an extremely creative dark cosmos perfect for creating new sounds. It was from within this sphere the producer duo Paul Hoffer and Christopher Kusterer came together and became PHCK. Chris as DJ and Paul as a classical musician started creating music together at the Yoshiwara Studio in late 2013. Soon, some tracks came together and people started to appreciate their music and encourage the duo to create more. 2014 became a busy year as they played together at Ozon Club, Pforzheim, which built up a steady reputation in its 20 years club experience for newcomers and experiments, along with releasing their output to the world, and therefore cementing their union as PHCK further. Sharing the passion and a vision to elaborate an ecstatic and sophisticated sound PHCK work exceedingly well together. The music is a transformation of their own emotion, which doesn’t mean there’s only black or white. Inspired by Brazil’s music, culture and beauty, Adana Twins proudly announce their latest endeavor, a unique edit of one of Brazil’s most celebrated singer/songwriters, Seu Jorge. 

“A friend of ours came to the studio and was listening to Seu Jorge through his headphones and from then onwards we were hooked! We had a listening session of the whole album and we stopped immediately when ‘Mania de Peitão’ came on. Such a beautiful tune with great lyrics” – Adana Twins

A folk-hero born in the city of Belford Roxo near Rio de Janerio, Seu’s intricately woven blends of Samba, Rock and Soul have earned him a remarkable number of accolades both as a musician and actor. A difficult task to rank each of Seu’s achievements, he famously performed at the Summer 2012 and 2016 Olympic ceremonies, along with appearing in the Brazilian feature film ‘City of God’ and perhaps most notably, providing the soundtrack for the critically acclaimed Wes Anderson film, ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’.

Adana Twins’ influence on 'Mania de Peitão’ transforms the dreamy vocals and Samba percussion into an exquisite offering perfect to end the night at any of the worlds dimly lit dance floors. Staying true to Seu’s original, the Adana Twins edit creates a new dimension featuring a crisply composed kick drum that perfectly compliments Seu’s melodies truly showcasing the astounding versatility of the duo.

The 137th release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Mariano Mellino and John Cosani back to the label for their debut collaborative EP.  The Argentinean duo have achieved much success in their respective solo careers, holding a collective discography with releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings. Now coming together for their first ever studio collaborations Mariano and John present 'Syracusse/Islandia' alongside remixes from Danito & Athina and Simos Tagias.

Both Mariano and John have been noted for their progressive minded productions and with their unique talents coming together they take it to a new level on ‘Syracusse’. Shuffled beats and mystical atmospheres create a surreal environment early before smooth rhythms and a rumbling low end lock down a strong groove. It's powerful, meditative drive leads to a cinematic break where waves of synths intensify over the rumbling foundation, ultimately leading to a huge moment and electric third act. 

The lone interpretation of ‘'Syracusse’ is provided by Danito & Athina who are making their first appearance on Movement Recordings.. Hailing from Cologne, Germany Danny Wendt and Tina Charalampidis make up the Danito & Athina production moniker. Although less than two years into their partnership the duo have already amassed a discography that includes releases on Crossfrontier Audio, Suruba, Jeudi Records and Eklektisch. With a fresh approach to progressive music Danito & Athina have taken 'Syracusse' into their own world of dark, mesmerising beats. Staying true to the mystical themes of the original the duo have reworked the foundation into a funky, rolling mass while waves of clattering drums and elastic synths take you further into the cosmos. A perfectly executed break builds tension while drums decay and a wall of twisted noise reignites the groove for a massive dance floor moment. Huge remix from Danito and Athena. 

The companion piece 'Islandia' finds Mariano and John crafting a deep, techno creation that sits as a great complement to 'Syracusse'. Anchored by a fluid wall of sub bass the piece flows through a myriad of trippy motifs and ominous designs. Timely chord changes accent the rolling funk wonderfully before a band of clustered effects initiates the main break. A centrepiece to tantalise the mind, aquatic designs are met with a wave of white noise as one final rush of beats takes you into a third act of melancholic meanderings.

Isolée’s Arrival

When three people run a label together it is exceptionally rare to find a positive unified opinion of a record upon first listen. When Isolée sent his "Mangroove" EP to Maeve, this was in fact what happened. But it is Isolée after all....

Mangroove came about last summer when The Drifter happened to catch Isolée's live set at a festival in Switzerland. Instantly blown away by the A side "Pisco" he was determined to find out what it was and if it was to be released. After chatting, Isolée suggested that he would send "Pisco" along with a couple of other "demos" to Maeve and a few days later the EP was happening.

Isolée has created some of the most important and beautiful records of our generation and has being a huge influence on what we do, thus we are incredibly excited and humbled to release his work.

This three track EP shows several different sides of the Frankfurt native, from the A-side dance floor catalyst that is "Pisco" to the deeper dubbier B-sides of "L5 Syndrome" and "Mangrove". This is the perfect record to mark our tenth release.

This time Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold had no doubts signing this debut release from Stuttgart's dj/producer Ninetoes as 'Finder' is obviously a massive stand-out track which has the words 'summer hit' written all over it. So it was just easy to convince Leon and Re-UP from Italy to do the remixes and help to make this release even more oustanding.

Nick Devon is an Athens based DJ/producer whose involvement with electronic music has spanned more than two decades. His musical journey commenced at 16, when he started experimenting with toy pianos and pretty much anything that could produce notes. Before long he was playing his father’s vinyls and from here, quickly advanced to DJing and producing.

Initially producing drum & bass as well as trance, he later transitioned his sound, gravitating more towards electronica and techno. Hence his ability to unite a plethora of elements and genres throughout his current productions. His dark trippy melodic sounds are distinctive, forged through a combination of digital, analogue and physical instruments sourced within in his own studio. This admirable skill has earned him much respect from numerous high profile artists worldwide. As a former vinyl DJ, Nick is also an avid record collector and to this day, spins plenty of old and new records. He enjoys embellishing his vinyl love by including them in his gigs and sets where ever possible.

It was 2010 when he officially launched his solo project and from this point forward, Nick started producing sounds and music that shook the dance floor, yet bestowed captivating melodies and emotional soundscapes, allowing people to create their own story within his productions. Ever since then, Nick’s career swiftly evolved and 2015 was his most successful year to date with two huge EP’s titled “The Poem” and “Cosmos”. His remix on Innellea - Colante quickly followed in 2016 and with all three EP’s released on Steyoyoke Recordings, it clearly affirmed just why he is considered a core member of this Berlin based collective. His tracks have been remixed by the likes of Kellerkind, Rolland Appel and Cid Inc and with an ever growing fan base, his music is regularly played and supported by some of the biggest DJs around the globe. Throughout his career, Nick has released originals and produced remixes on a number of labels such as, iRecords, Union Jack, 3AM, Blindfold Recordings, Us & Them, Steyoyoke and Inside Out Records. It’s only the start of 2016 and with a string of upcoming releases to look forward to, Nick Devon certainly has some exciting things on the horizon.
