Next Up on the podcast we welcome Tom2Trax who has been a regular at the helm of the Ebloc decks for some time now. An energetic blend of uplifting rhythms touching on Bumpy tech house,  rolling percussive tribalism and feel-good crescendos, we're mega happy with how this one turned out and we're hoping you are too.

"I went for a mix of Detroit sounding house and techno, golden-era UK tech house (the good stuff) and the some funky, percussive, energetic techno. A few dusty gems I’ve been digging over the last few years, as well as some recent cuts. I feel like this mix really sums up my DJ style and is what I’d usually play at my ALLTRAX events at Eastern Bloc."

The XO Show ft John Joe XO - Vol 1

Inspired by watching horror movies most nights during October, Halloween, and recent music digs to play out during Halloween weekend, I decided to create a ride focused on the dark side of what I love. We start with ominous thunder and a mad man ranting (can you name the sample source?) before the kooky minimal kicks in. Quirky, darker minimal gradually gets funkier until we have a full blown case of "The Creeps." Then the clubbier minimal and tech house beats come rushing through to keep things bumping in the night. At about an hour in, the club beats move onto something even darker and more sinister in the form of wicked, synth heavy, melodic house and techno. I don't want to give away the ending, but let's just say there's a treat at the end that serves as the dark cherry on top. Hope you dig it like an open grave on a full moon!!

Okay, okay. Quick history backstory.  Drums as a child, and through his 20's.  Turntables, and loads of vinyl before entering the digital realm.  Nick has been busy with all that noise for two and half decades.  Growing up on rock, grunge, 90's electronic, hip hop, and everything in between rounded out his senses for music, and what appealed to him.  A taste ever evolving leaving him playing house, techno, minimal, acid, downtempo, and breakbeat.  Now with over 20 years of experience you can expect great track selection, crowd reading, and flawless mixing.  This journey has seen him play in cities through Western Canada, and with larger acts from abroad including the likes of Mark Farina, Tipper, Kevin Yost, James Teej, Pezzner, Dirt Crew, Detroit Swindle, Noah Pred, Rob Paine, and many more.  

After spending many years as a key part of Left Coast Crew in Victoria BC as a DJ/Promoter, he is back In Saskatchewan where he started this journey. The new vision is to rekindle his old connections and push his promotion brand The Motive To Move (TM2) to new heights, and entertain as many party people as possible.
