This arrangement of the Negro Spiritual "Deep River" was made by James Markey, Bass Trombonist of the New York Philharmonic. The colourful bluesy sounds are coming out of a metallic "Wah-wah" (harmon) mute.

The legendary "alien band" playing in the Mos Eisley pub in the first Star Wars film (1977), in a tasteful arrangement with Ulrich Swakowski, from the "Tuba Libre" series (Deutsches Tuba Forum).

The full band name is "Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes" (also known as the Cantina Band). They are depicted as hairless aliens with dome-shaped heads and round, black eyes, a race called Biths.

Recorded on a Besson Sovereign Euphonium and Bb Tuba.
