The Tea Party, the multi-Platinum selling, multi-Juno Award nominated trio consisting of singer/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Jeff Martin, bassist and multi-instrumentalist Stuart Chatwood and drummer/percussionist Jeff Burrows has returned with Sunshower, a collection of five new songs that once again showcase their mastery of light and shade, and why they continue to occupy a unique place within the ever-changing musical landscape. 

Released on Nov. 26, 2021 through Coalition Music, Sunshower serves as a companion piece to the 2019 EP Black River, presenting a message of hope in the face of the most challenging year we as a society have endured so far in the 21st century. Together, the EPs will comprise the eventual full-length album Blood Moon Rising, officially marking the latest chapter in The Tea Party’s on-going saga. 

Since releasing its major-label debut album Splendor Solis in 1993, The Tea Party has come to be regarded as one of the world’s most innovative rock bands, with a sound that incorporates everything from traditional instrumentation from around the world, to cutting-edge digital technology. 

Now, after more than 30 years as a band, The Tea Party is ready to open a new chapter in its saga, a story that remains rooted in the goal to create new, ambitious, and thought provoking music.

OGB met at AIM, where they decided to ditch the pure rock they were being taught to see what sounds they could come up with on their own. Unlocking a happy blend of poppy lyrics, with the feel good rock and roll they grew up on and first fell in love with, the boys descended onto the Sydney pub scene determined to share their spin.

Ollie (vocals, lyrics, rhythm guitar); Jono (backing vocals, lead guitar); Matt (drums); and Vangel (bass) share a love for music by Jack Johnson, John Mayer, the Kooks and Alt-J. Their music is a blending of the chilled vibes of the Beautiful Girls and the toe-tapping beats of Jet.

Their EP, Kill it or Face it, is all about the choices they had to make to get to where they are. The road to recognition isn't easy. The boys had to decide whether to kill the dream, or dig their heels in and face the beast. They did just that. From Old Manly Boatshed, to Surry Hills, they've stuck it out, and they're only sounding better.

Along with upcoming shows across Sydney (check out www.officialogb.com for a list of venues), you can find the boys online. OGB's YouTube channel, The Warehouse, is set to showcase recording sessions with other emerging local artists, such as Cuzn and the Northern Beaches's Rufflefeather. Encountering, again and again, the limited opportunities for exposure, Ollie reached out to industry friends and professionals and curated the Warehouse Sessions. Their first session was filmed at Sydney's The Gut, which they'll be launching soon, along with their EP on March 30th.
