Jason Midro is a pioneering Australian DJ, producer, and remixer whose career has defined generations of electronic music. As the founder of Sound of Now and Bass Station, Jason helped shape the underground club culture that became legendary in Melbourne and beyond.
Through Sound of Now Productions, he created Bass Station, one of Australia’s longest-running hard dance institutions, hosting unforgettable nights at iconic venues like CBD Nightclub, ZoZ, and The Palace. Bass Station also partnered with Ministry of Sound Australia, producing the acclaimed Hard NRG compilation series, which sold over 700,000 copies worldwide — cementing Jason’s reputation as a global tastemaker.
On the airwaves, Jason’s influence stretched further with The Sound of Now Show on Kiss FM, first in the 1990s and later revived in 2019, delivering hard trance, techno, and psy energy to loyal listeners.
Today, Jason continues to evolve the sound of the underground. His productions and remixes are released internationally on respected labels, while his sets bring the same raw intensity and forward-thinking energy that built his name.
