Everyone in Bucha has their own story.  When I heard the story of my friend, then I woke up 6 times at night, remembered what she was saying and heard this melody in my head all the time.  Melody of a soul that suffered, but the spirit overcame this suffering and moved forward.  And when I woke up for the sixth time already in the morning, I was able to get out of bed, move to the chair and record this composition.  I dedicate it to my friend Elvira.

A prominent member of our Toulouse scene for over a decade, he has crafted a unique and signature sound drawing from Arab influences, techno, EBM, and even Italo Disco encapsulated in these three powerful and emotional tracks. 

Through his project, he raises awareness about the Palestinian cause and brings a symbol of peace and freedom to the dancefloor. More than ever, we are proud to support his music.

Israeli/Colombian DJ, producer and founder of Underground Bloom Records Label, Golan Zocher's career started at the very young age of 17 spinning vinyl in a city where the electronic music scene was just a shadow of Salsa and tropical rhythms.

Fast forward to the present, and it’s a joy to see Golan collaborating with Choopie on this stellar EP. Golan frames it like this: “Make Me Famous EP is a special one because it represents two tracks
of different realms, where one is of light and comfort, security and sense of be- longing while the other represents a world of confusion, distress and hypnotic darkness. Both tracks for the same night but at different hours”.

Make Me Famous, the title track is the first half of this equation, with warm pads and lush chords, while Azaia brings a darker element to proceedings. We are also treated to a remix by Tel Aviv born and Berlin based Nela, who shares a gorgeous take on Make Me Famous which brings the piano melodies right to the fore.

Lebanese DJ and producer Arabian Panther, famed for his keffiyah stage mask and his distinctive sound which can transition swiftly from a warrior’s march anthem to a club banger tinged with Arabic scales and instrumentals. His dynamic sets and productions pay homage to his multicultural heritage as a French child from the Lebanese diaspora, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian cause. 

Arabian Panther’s journey of solidarity commenced with the release of his EP ‘Desert’s Anthem’ in 2019, which caught the attention of Palestinian DJ Odai Masri, aka Oddz and helped him forge connections within the Palestinian music scene. After signing his first track with the first Palestinian techno label ‘Harara’ – managed by the late great Oddz.

For our 230th episode of Select, Arabian Panther has created a set exclusively for SceneNoise, which he recorded in one take at his home. The set is infused with some of his favourite tunes that he has been incorporating into his sets over the past year, along with a selection of tracks from his latest EP, ‘The Death of the Panther’, which he released on Ritmo Fatale on March 22nd of this year.

Featuring his own original tracks like ‘Hafla For Our Dead’, as well as ‘Lala Torkia’ by Cheb Hamar and more, the 66-minute set begins with an eclectic mix of Palestinian Dabke music, incorporating classic Middle Eastern instrumentals like Tabla, Mezmar, and Darbuka drums, which serve as the base for the set.
