When 2 years ago my friend passed along his old clavinova to me, I started composing like a train (after not having a piano for over 12 years). The 18th piece finished that first year, was this. It's the one piece inspired by someone else: Chilly Gonzales, "White Keys" (a piece my friend liked a lot).

This is my instrumental piece Crystal Cove, inspired by sunny days by the Mediterranean.  The piece starts off with a bouncy, simple piano melody and gradually builds with strings.  I wanted to try and capture a nostalgic, slightly vintage and romantic vibe of happy times: picnics with friends, bicycle rides and swimming in coves.  

As always, I write my piano pieces and then send them off to composer Oliver Lodge along with some demo production ideas as a guide.  I'm very happy how this turned out, as I did find the second half of this piece very hard to write!

On a separate note, I do love my SoundCloud community.  Albeit tiny, I find folks on this platform are real listeners of music and give great feedback.  It's not about numbers here on SC and I find that very free'ing and authentic.  Thank you for listening and commenting.
