THE ANTHEM [GOOD CHARLOTTE]

Probably the song I sang most during my university career as an acoustic-toting Seth Cohen look-alike, roaming the dorm hallways, fuelled by copious amounts of cheap beer, hoping that maybe one day, some pretty girl would hear my emo lullabies and come calling after me.  

But mostly I just got drunk and kept people up.  

All joking aside, this is one of my all-time favourite songs, by one of my all-time favourite bands.  

It's a surreal and humbling experience being able to tinker with the acapella from a song I've heard literally hundreds - maybe even thousands - of times.  

Chris' voice is a goddamn national treasure, and I can only hope I did it justice in my reimagining of this iconic emo anthem.

If you know DJ/producer, Nick Ledesma, then you know how rare it is for him to succumb to negativity. You will always catch him with a smile on his face and will also find him preaching positivity on a regular basis.

Music has been a strong influence on Ledesma’s new attitude and outlook. Ledesma has been DJing and producing since the age of 18. Ledesma has had the opportunity to play with acts such as Ferry Corsten, Sander Van Doorn, Seven Lions, Tritonal, Jauz and many more. Ledesma has spent his entire life in Los Angeles, the mecca of the dance music industry. This has been both beneficial and a challenge. While it is true that there are a lot of opportunities in the LA area, the market is extremely saturated and is hard to separate yourself from the rest. Ledesma was self-managed, as he did everything he can to promote himself when not onstage: booking shows, establishing relationships with people in the industry, etc.

From DJing at parties and bars in the area, to becoming one of the residents at West Coast #1 venue Exchange LA. Ledesma is beginning to find his way. Despite the pressure to do well in this industry, Ledesma remains unnerved when he is performing onstage. He focuses on his job – to set the mood for the night, and stays in the zone during his performance.

His path shows that people can have true happiness and do anything they put their heart into. While he is aware that he might just be a blip on the radar at this time, it won't be too long until you see him at festival stages.
