I always like when Tom dials in his "mean" tone, so I created this attitude-packed jam track for us to rip over. I kick it off, Tom joins in around the 1 minute mark, I briefly take over the reins at about the 2 minute mark, and Tom snatches them back at around the 2:30 mark. Gary invited me to add vocals to this intriguing track. I was only too happy to. He built it into a multi-layered maelstrom of sound, full of complex time signature changes and effects. I really like the multiple riffs and the growling guitar. It has an eastern flavour in parts, to my ears and then shifts into grinding power rock. He really is a master technician as well as a player - the way he builds tracks is a joy to hear and be part of.

When my son Andrew was back in town recently, we wanted to record something, and we decided to re-record this song, which was always one of our favorites. Back in 2015, this was the first track we recorded after forming Penelope's Thrill. (You can find that old demo way down at the bottom of the SoundCloud page.) 
On this version, I play a Gretsch 5422 and a Vintage Modified Strat. Andrew plays a '78 Guild S-60. My wife Barbara also joins us on the vocals during the bridge/chorus--so this is a true family affair!!

Finn deserves full credit for this song. I sent him the lyrics and he brought them to life.  I had planned on laying down synths, but after listening to his version, I told him it was already a stand-alone song. He told me he had used 70 tracks to make it.  70 tracks!!!
