The latest installment in our free download series welcomes Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada with their much requested take on Depeche Mode’s ‘The Things You Said’. As frequent studio partners since remixing Upercent’s ‘Pulsacions’ in 2017, Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada have become one of the progressive scene’s most beloved production teams. The duo have built a strong synergy over what has been a six-year creative swell, showcasing their original material on Nick’s The Soundgarden imprint, while also recording a string of impressive remixes for DAYS like NIGHTS, Get Physical, Proton Music and many more trendsetting imprints. Always looking for new avenues to test their creative chops, the duo took to re-imagining Depeche Mode’s ‘The Things You Said’ earlier this year. Released in 1987 as part of the band’s ‘Music for the Masses’, an album widely regarded to encompass the best styles from both ‘Black Celebration’ and ‘Violator’, ‘The Things You Said’ has stood the test of time and remains a high point on the seminal and much loved long-player. Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada have combined their extensive forces once again, knocking out a near nine-minute epic rendition which has not only been a staple in Nick’s recent sets, but also finds the duo landing more additive ever. This is logical, this is a progression... The original and still one of the best sets around, LTJ's about to touch down. After much confusion I finally found the original 1996 version of LTJ's seminal Logical Progression 2 CD release. This is the mixed set (CD-B). Intelligent DnB at its finest. I've been looking for this set for a long time but have never been able to find it online, only the 2001 re-released version where the mixed CD was replaced with the 'Ministry of Sound Half A Decade Of Dance' 96 live set and different tracks on the un-mixed CD. I brought a 2nd hand copy from Discogs.com. I will do a mix using the tracks on the unmixed CD (CD-A) when I get some time.

No infringement of copyright is intended, I'm assuming it's ok to make this available to download as it's not possible to buy this new anymore. If there is a problem with copyright let me know and I'll remove it. 

As always, all props to the artists, producers n engineers that made these tracks, nuff respect to all the Goodlooking family.

LTJ Bukem presents Logical Progression (CD-B mixed set, original 1996 version) Intelligent DnB

It all started off with my fascination for my dads records. I used to love playing the vinyl on his Pioneer deck, through his (then expensive) celestion Ditton 15 speakers which were powered by a luxman amp, which all added up to a very well rounded sound. I ALWAYS wanted a pair of decks that were in Argos....I never got them. My first record I owned I won at Stockton Brook bonfire. It was a Wings album, I played it to death. The first records I ever bought were two 7" Pretenders - 2000 miles and, Michael Jackson - Thriller. I used to buy all the Electro's on tape. Anyway, I loved hip hop, and every week I was up Roxy Roller Rink in Hanley, (most/all of you will know this venue by a different name now..The VOID..lol) doing my breaking thang. The turtle was my speciality. After we came out of there, we would go to the little indoor shopping arcade which housed the shop 'Fantasy World', and lay out the lino, turn up the ghettoblaster, and dance until they paid us to f**k off ;-) My first 'gigs' (in the broadest sense) were at 6th Form College Fenton, where I used to play tapes in the common room, that I'd mixed with the ghettoblaster (pause sampling). My first proper gig was at Staffs Polytechnic where I set up a couple of nights with my mate Andy (He now works as a voiceover guy for Channel 4). You can see from my past gigs that I played with some big groups. From there I then played at Evergreens. From there I left and went to Minstrels. Minstrels was a superb place, small, and brand new, great decor. It was the perfect venue.....and that's where it REALLY started, the rest as they say is history.
